Castillo Real St. Augustine Beach Resort, Tapestry by Hilton

The first night we checked into our room we realize it did not have working AC (which we figured could be because they are under construction). We waited awhile thinking maybe we just hadn’t given it enough time to cool off, but it never did. My husband went to the front desk around 1AM and an employee (Christopher) immediately checked us into a new room and apologized many times for the inconvenience. The new room had a great AC, was very clean, and had an even better balcony view than our original room had. When my husband brought it up to the manager (Rhonda) and was praising how well Christopher handled the situation, she also apologized and waived our parking fees and taxes on our room. We greatly appreciate how we were treated by the staff and we will definitely be returning!

Everything for this stay was awesome! The room exceeded expectations and every employee that I encountered was very pleasant. It is very close to the ocean (just down a side street). It is within easy walking distance to a few restaurants and a couple ice cream shops. They are still doing construction, so there is no dinning area at the moment and the fitness center was not available. The construction did not affect our stay. The walls are not thin like some places, so you won't be stuck listening to your neighbors. I liked the place so much that I went ahead and booked the location for next month.

Under construction not floor. The place is a disaster. When i made the reservation they said they are part of the new collection by the hilton. Terrible please any other hotel is better. They said the gym was closed everything is closed in the hotel.

It was a very good! A well-chosen hotel by the wife to celebrate my birthday, top-notch hospitality, and a prime location—what more could you ask for on a birthday getaway? Raquel and Rhonda true pros at making guests feel welcome. Even with the restaurant area not being open, everything else made up for it, especially being so close to the beach and historic downtown. the trip was as relaxing as it was memorable.

This was our 5th stay in the past 10 years. We have always loved CR but this time was completely different. We knew construction was still underway and I called a couple times to make sure of the available ammendiities. Let me say the quality of the work is sub par. Our water pressure was almost non existent. Only drops from the shower head. the handheld wand was slightly better and how we had to shower. Complaints brought Maintenence with no improvement. I would show a video but review only allows pics. As others mentioned, no place to hang towels, or place soaps. The exhaust fan had been replaced but did not work. Lightening was only a floor lamp at the mirror. Floor tile was broken during remodel and had not been corrected. Pool was never cleaned during our week stay. I hope they correct all these issues before they start charging higher prices and resort fees. We love the area and beach access, but won't be back to CR.

If you want an average trip. This is a perfect place. Beds were comfortable, air conditioning worked well and was quiet. I tried to stay positive for the first day and tried not to let the short comings ruin it for us. We have been coming here every other year for 10 years and been going downhill from then. We are not high maintenance or over expecting. We walked into the room and was excited, clean and cool. Walked into bathroom. No light above the mirror just a standing lamp that normally would be next to a recliner in the living room. No towel bars.towels on the sink. Shower pressure was not strong at all.The cleaning people for got our room one night and had to get my own towels down stairs. I had to go to the maids area because no one was at front desk. The girl did not speak English. I had to talk in her phone so it could translate for her. I gave her a tip. The next day the maids came in and took our towels that I got the night before and did not replace them. Not sure if they were being smart but did not leave them at tip. They were with out internet for the whole vacation. They had a poop smell by the pool. Tried to have lunch at the table and the smell made us ill. We tried to bring up issues but they blew us off. Sorry guess you pushed us away. The restaurant was not worth it. If you want ok this is it! If you want more of a resort feel go somewhere that will give you a better vibe.
