Hotel Kerschbaumer

What a fantastic experience we had. Having booked last minute we didn’t know what to expect but I can honestly say this was everything we hoped for and more. It started at the front door where a decorative board with our name on it welcoming us to the hotel, simple touch but it’s all about the detail…. We were greeted by Florian who immediately made us feel welcome speaking English as soon as he realised my German wasn’t great lol! He helped us with our planned visit to Hallstatt and explained about the hotel restaurant being a 3 minute walk away in a dedicated restaurant setting. We could feel that this was a family run business, it didn’t have the corporate colours, logos, standard uniforms and the often straight faced employee going through the motions, this was real. We went to our room and were pleasantly surprised, the view was spectacular, the bed comfy, the bathroom very sizeable and everywhere super clean. We dined in the restaurant after our visit to Hallstatt and was greeted by Florian. He was working and managing the restaurant that evening too. This is often the beauty of a family run hotel that each part of the family plays a roll, on the night I understood that Florian’s father was the chef on duty. I had the garlic cream soup which was fantastic, followed by the schnitzel and the finale was the apple Strudel, honestly the food was superb and extremely great value for money. (Bring cash as they don’t accept tips/gratuities by card, I only had €5 with me but truly wanted to leave more) After a great nights sleep we went down for breakfast and was greeted by Florian’s Mother who was really friendly and so helpful. The breakfast was one of the best we have had on our European road trip, the bread selection was perfect and the meats and cheeses, really hit the spot. There was yoghurt, cereals, cakes, croissants it was a truly rich spread. I absolutely loved the family feel and attention I was given and am already to inking about another visit next year.

Our visit was great, the staff were very kind, the room was very spaced and cozy. We'll definitely be back.

You should stay here The stay was amazing, the facilities were beautiful and well maintained. The staff was specially accommodating. The view in any direction is phenomenal.

The hotel is an easy walk to the ski lifts,, although you can get the ski bus directly outside if wished. You may use the free ski lockers at he Horn Bahn to save taking ski equipment back to the hotel. The family are very accommodating and they are always on hand to offer advice and to help with booking of restaurants, taxis and generally to give a helping hand. The rooms vary in size, but all are more than adequate and they are very clean with large bathrooms. Breakfast is excellent with a choice of fresh meats, cheeses and lots more. You will not go hungry! The evening meal can be taken in their restaurant, The Weinstube. It is a traditional restaurant with great food and wines. Try the house red, you won't be disappointed! The facilities include nice relaxing areas and also a good sauna/wellness room.

Wir waren mit einem Busunternehmen unterwegs und haben uns Ende August eine Woche im Hotel Kerschbaumer verwöhnen lassen. Wir haben einen liebevoll und professionell betriebenen Familienbetrieb angetroffen. Das wundervolle reichhaltige Frühstück wurde nur von einem getoppt: Dem Abendessen bei dem wir mit allerlei kulinarischen Köstlichkeiten verwöhnt wurden und den Abschluss regionale Desserts der Spitzenklasse bildeten. Sowohl die Familie Kerschbaumer als auch die Angestellten waren freundlich, zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit und hatten für jeden ein offenes Ohr. Gut gefallen hat mir auch das liebevoll eingerichtete Spielzimmer,..Kinder sind hier offensichtlich willkommen. Der Seniorchef hat uns an drei Tagen im Bus begleitet und uns mit viel Hintergrundwissen und Humor seine Heimat näher gebracht und uns an einige der schönsten Orte des Salzburger Landes gebracht. Einen Ausflug nach Salzburg konnten wir leicht mit öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln realisieren. Die Zimmer sind modern und sauber, der Service zuvorkommend. Ich denke durchaus über einen weiteren Besuch im nächsten Jahr nach und bedanke mich nochmal bei der Familie Kerschbaumer samt Team für die gelungene Urlaubswoche.
