The Den is a mountain getaway that opened in October 2022 in Running Springs, California. Our cozy cabin from the 1960s has been renovated down to the studs. Not only does it feature a fresh look that is woodsy yet modern, but it’s centrally located to everything you’ll want to explore in the San Bernardino Mountains.Gather on our deck for beers and conversation. Nearby attractions also include: Lake Gregory, Heaps Peak Arboretum, Santa’s Village, and Snowdrift Snow Tubing Park. Relax on our green velvet sofa, or take your pick among white armchairs and tufted leather benches. A huge picture window brings in an abundance of natural light. And French doors swing open to the deck, blurring the line between outdoors and in. As night falls, our wood-burning fireplace gives off a soft, romantic glow. Put on a movie or play a game from our collection – we have Uno, Scrabble, Cards Against Humanity and more. And yes! Fix yourself a cocktail at the bar cart (it’s BYO alcohol) as you settle in for another memorable evening. The vaulted knotty pine ceiling in our living room extends over to the kitchen, creating an airiness in the heart of the house. On drizzly nights, you can even hear the pitter patter of the rain. The kitchen has its own soothing ambience with an iron chandelier, brass fixtures and elegant black cabinets. We love our dining table and wicker chairs that invite you to eat together, right in the kitchen. And when it comes to making delicious meals, you’ll have everything you need – from new cookware and dishware to a farmhouse sink and upscale appliances. What’s more, our coffee bar has your mornings covered: We’re happy to provide K-Cup pods and coffee grinds for the Keurig and coffee pot. 2 BEDROOMS & 1 BATHROOMOur two bedrooms are just the place to get a good night’s sleep. Both rooms have king beds, nightstands with statement lamps, and more pine ceilings. In one bedroom, unwind on a tufted gray bed near a window. Or check email at our handsome desk. You’ll also enjoy nature artwork, a Persian-style rug and white bedding with throw pillows in here. In the other bedroom, drift far away on a four poster canopy bed. You’ll find bedding and pillows in earthy shades of terracotta, cream and beige. Plus a comfy armchair. Watch your favorite shows on the smart TV and open the sliding glass doors for some fresh mountain air. We also provide an air mattress for a fifth guest.The hallway bathroom has striking matte black fixtures, from the sink and mirror to the glass-enclosed shower. There’s also a soaking tub so you can relax your muscles after a day of adventuring. Upstairs is Bedroom #3 with a California King-size bed, plush carpet, full Bathroom #2 with Jacuzzi Tub #2, and a loft with couch overlooking valley views through the trees. From the main floor, downstairs is Bedroom #4 with a full bed, and Bathroom #3, (a half bath) and a game room with bunk beds (a queen bed on bottom and a twin on top. It is only several homes away from Highway 18, and is normally one of the first streets plowed after snowfall. Let the family sleep in and walk 1 minute to LuluBelle's Coffee House and Bakery and bring back amazing coffee, bakery items and breakfast sandwiches! The cafe also has an EV charger.1-minute drive to the village of Running Springs with a full grocery store and fresh-cut meat department. Or take a 2-minute walk to the Village Market on Hwy 18 grocery items, liquor, etc. An oversized smart washer and oversized smart dryer for your use. We are paying $285 per stay for cleaning because we use the best cleaning service on the mountain comprised of professional cleaners who use the highest enhanced cleaning standards available, sanitizing every touched surface in the home, so you know you are staying in the cleanest home on the mountain. 4 fire extinguishers, two first aid kits, and one brand-new choking hazard removal kit, made especially for children. Walls of stacked stone with Wolf Inlay, GE Monogram Cook top, Kitchen Aid Convection/Double Oven and pantry shelves filled with all the conveniences of home are sure to please. The HUGE stone wood burning fireplace crackles and is warm, inviting. From the upstairs Master Loft, you can see all below, including the huge Pines that surround the cabin, backed by BLM forests. Two bedrooms downstairs, a Queen and another with Bunks. Beds are cozy, comfortable and nights are quiet. All bedrooms have their own wifi, and, USB. Master and Queen bedroom have Electric Fireplaces, also. The quaint city of Running Springs is a 2 minute drive. Several great restaurants, and, a grocery store with ready made delicious meals. We have a great BarbeQue, if you prefer to dine @ home under the stars, on the newly enlarged large wrap around wood deck. Kitchen is setup for the Master Chef. The Master Loft has it's own deck above the double carport. Kids will be entertained with the bunk beds, and, trundle bed sleeps two. Sledding is a stone throws away. We are centrally located with Santa's Village, Snow Summit, Lake Arrowhead, Blue Jay and Big Bear minutes away.
