Top Hotel Goldenes Fass

We booked our stay with there own website. We did receive a confirmation of the booking and that it has been accepted. When we wanted to check in,give our name and said we have a reservation the receptionist gave us a no, she was shaking hear head like we would be crazy. We showed our booking and confirmation and she just started to talk German and kept saying : ich habe keine zimmer, ich habe keine zimmer. She admitted we have a booking but ze doesn’t have a room nevertheless. We didn’t get any apologies or offered any solution, she barely even looked us in the eyes. She just directed us away and send us back outside with our one year old toddler. If it couldn’t get any worse, we got completely soaked outside because it started to rain heavily. One of the worst hospitality experiences/ bookings ever!

This is a lovely hotel to stay in a short distance from the walled city. It was easy to find even though the road was closed that day outside the hotel. Just a slight detour around the back streets and we came out across the road from it. The car park was easy to find as you turn down the road at the side of the hotel at the traffic lights and then it’s on your right. There is a back entrance into the hotel from there. The lovely lady on reception couldn’t apologies enough about the road works but it wasn’t her fault. Our room was on the first floor just at the top of the stairs, there is no lift here which we knew about in advance and packed a smaller bag for the night here so we wasn’t carrying the big suit cases up the stairs. The room was at the front of the hotel and was very clean. The bathroom was only small but it was fine. The aircon was good and we were given a remote for it on check in. There is an honesty bar down stairs which was well stocked but we didn’t use this. It only took us a few minutes to walk into the city but as it was getting late I made a dash to the Christmas shop before it closed at 6pm. There are plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from and we were going to eat in a hotel where we have stayed before but before we got there we ended up in another hotel. So no problem finding somewhere to eat. The beds were comfortable and we both slept well. Breakfast was very good with plenty to choose from and good coffee. We have said we will visit here again and I’m sure we would book this hotel again.

Situated a 10 minute walk from a gate into the town this is an excellent place to stay while visiting Rothenburg. The Ladies who run it are very friendly, helpful and efficient. The room was very comfortable, quiet and well equipped. The breakfast is good and there is an Honesty System providing a range of drinks & snacks that can be taken out into the pleasant garden or to the lounge.

Check in was smooth and easy with the helpful and friendly staff and I was made to feel very welcome. I arrived by car and there was plenty of parking at the rear of the hotel. A comfortable room and both the room and the large modern bathroom were clean. A very nice breakfast and again the staff were very friendly and helpful. It is a short walk into town so the hotel is in a good location too. I had an enjoyable stay and would be happy to book there again.

Zunächst das positive: sehr freundliche Personal, sehr gutes Frühstück, nahe der Altstadt, Parkplatz ( gegen Gebühr). Das Zimmer incl Bad ist einfach in die Jahre gekommen. Es roch sehr stark nach einem künstlichen Duft. Da stellt sich mir die Frage, ob da ein Geruch des Teppichs überlagert werden soll. Eine Renovierung wäre wünschenswert. Das Hotel liegt an einer sehr befahrenen Kreuzung.

Een typisch Duits familiehotel met bijbehorende vriendelijkheid en service. Buiten het centrum maar de stad is slechts een korte (en mooie) wandeling. Uiteraard wat gedateerde kamers maar wel schoon en ruim. Parkeren kan achter het hotel zelf. Verder basic faciliteiten.

Super lieve ontvangst, prachtige schone en comfortabele familiekamer, fijn ontbijt. Een super (en zeer betaalbaar) hotel voor een tussenstop of een bezoek aan het schattige stadje Rothenburg Ob der Tauber. De volgende keer kiezen we zeker weer dit fijne hotel.

Ideal gelegen vor der Altstadt, wirklich nur ein kurzer Weg. Altbau zwar ohne Aufzug, aber wir hatten auch nur kleines Gepäck für kurze Zeit, das Zimmer im 2.OG unterm Dach aber auch leicht über die Treppe direkt zugänglich. Das Zimmer ist frisch, sehr gefallen hat uns die Mustertapete die auch an der Rückwand vom TV-Möbel zu finden ist. Klimaanlage brauchten wir nicht, die Heizung aber funktioniert tadellos. Das Duschbad ist sogar sehr groß. Insgesamt sehr sauber. Trotz Straßenlage perfekt ruhig. Es wirkt alles großzügig und nicht drückend eng/klein sowie erst vor kurzem erneuert. Die Dame des Hotels war super freundlich und hilfsbereit, sogar Wünsche beim hervorragenden Frühstück wurden erfüllt. Wir haben uns hier in kurzer Zeit schnell wohl gefühlt und können wirklich jedem dieses Hotel empfehlen. Insbesondere wo Rothenburg mit seinen Museen und Geschäften auch leider ohne Weihnachtsmarkt noch sehr viel zu bieten hat. Hinweis: Unser Aufenthalt umfasste Übernachtung mit Frühstück, wir können daher nicht alles beurteilen - jedoch unser Fazit = ein absolut goldener Treffer und wir kommen gerne wieder.
