In the heart of the Wye Valley, this traditional English country Inn overlooks the River Wye and ancient Goodrich Castle. It offers a modern Restaurant Grill and bright, airy rooms.
Set in the midst of beautiful natural countryside, The Inn on the Wye is just a few minutes’ drive from the scenic village of Symonds Yat. Historic Tintern Abbey is a 30-minute drive.
Each room at the Inn has a private bathroom and free tea and coffee, while most have a TV. An apartment is available, and some rooms boast a four-poster bed and river or castle views.
Light, modern dining areas are combined with cozy fireside corners. The tasty food is complemented by a good wine list and well-kept real ales. Recently introduced Indian cuisine since April 2024 available Wednesday - Sunday.

Stayed here 18 months ago for 2 nights, was not the best tbh. We have just stayed again for a 1 night stopover after holidaying in Cornwall. Stayed in one of the lodges,room was OK if a little basic, take your own toiletries as you only get 2 small pouches of all in one bodywash/shampoo and half a bog roll 😬 The bar and restaurant are ok if a bit tired, there is signs of water damage over the bar area, really needs sorting as it looks terrible as a customer. Evening meal was OK, breakfast service was mixed. The lady waiting tables was great,she did say the chef was slow, she wasn't lying either..husband ordered the full breakfast, I ordered scrambled eggs....40 minutes after the order was taken, we got our food,Husbands was OK, mine looked like vomit, the plate was warm, the food was stone cold, looked like they had been overcooked hrs ago, 2nd visit, won't be going again, shame, this place could be a gem, it's being pulled down by lazy cooking and lack of investment.

the experience of staying here is not one i would recommend. the whole place is looking tired and the room we were in had ants . we were asked to come to breakfast early for the convenience of the only staff member on duty. they need to have a look at why they were empty except for us both nights!! i should have taken note of rating and not given the benefit of the doubt

Terrible Christmas Party Night ! Poorly organised, poorly executed and poor quality of food. Head waitress was incredibly rude, challenging when our complaints shared and forceful which was not appreciated. Terrible attitude to guests with pre disclosed food allergies. Starters, mains and desserts brought out randomly so the table was always missing items. No Artisan breads while we waited, ran out of time for coffee and minced pies!. Food was cold, not as described and mains were piled on plates like some back street dockers pub. For £40 it was one of the most expensive options locally . Would not recommend.

Very average Inn, rooms are tired, bed mattress was cheap and uncomfortable, shower not hot and bathroom very dated. Breakfast is normally a good indicator and it was really poor, the cooked breakfast was very small, and the ingredients were cheap and nasty, no toast arrived, tea cups were dirty, a great shame as venue has potential and location is good but needs urgent updating to decor and furnishings in bedrooms

Excellent service and lovely, really tasty Indian food. It also catered for one of our party who like English food. The service was prompt and friendly, but not intrusive which was just right. We really enjoyed our evening and will definitely go again.

The Indian food was amazing! The lamb chops were really authentic and full of flavour. The kids played on the playbus while we ate, we are regular visitors to the playbus as an activity for the kids, but this was the first time sampling the Indian food. I would definitely recommend it!

The good thing about this place is the location.. absolutely stunning.. Check in was sample for us. Most of the staff seem a bit clueless.. they didn't seem to know about anything.. A couple of staff were ok but it seems some training needs to be done. The restaurant closes at 8pm.. (website says 9pm).. I'm not sure why it closes at that time on a Saturday night when it's busy. Food look nice. Breakfast took over an hour from ordering, not really sure why it took so long.. again no organisation?? the lodges need updating.. ones been done ..hopefully the rest will be done . All in all .. the owner needs to smell the coffee & sort this place out.... otherwise i fear it will be run into the ground..it could be a gem if run properly..

Very dog friendly Inn and we were all made very welcome. Staff were lovely. The restaurant was very busy and we were informed of a delay, but we really didn't have long to wait compared to other places. The food was amazing, both British and real Indian. To be honest, I think the butter chicken is potentially award winning. Large portions of food on our plates, I am gluten free and was very well catered for. This time we stayed in the chalets, which were very cosy. However, I would have given a 5 star review, but there was no hot water available was unable to take a shower. Apart from this, we really enjoyed our stay. We have been before, and will come again.

Arrived from work and was told today is an early close day... Staff very slow when not busy in the restaurant, WiFi not available in rooms, bar closed at 8, restaurant closed at 7, not impressed with the service, wouldn't come again in a hurry.
