I recently stayed at the Fairfield Inn, Folsom and had a very disappointing experience. The shower head in my bathroom (Room 319) was covered in mold, which is completely unacceptable. When I brought this issue to Bernard’s attention, he only offered 3000 points as compensation. Thankfully, I had my own shower head with me because the thought of showering with moldy water is horrifying. It’s clear that the bathrooms at this hotel have significant ventilation problems. The bathroom vents run non stop, indicating a persistent issue with humidity and airflow. This lack of proper ventilation is likely contributing to the mold problem. What concerns me most is that the management seems to be aware of these issues but acts as if everything is fine. Bernard even gaslit me when I called in to complain about it days later after nothing was done. He claimed that both he and maintenance said the shower head was fine. Of course, the shower head appeared fine when they checked it, likely because housekeeping cleaned and reinstalled it. I had left the moldy shower head on the bathroom counter when I checked out and informed the front desk person the morning of check out. This is particularly troubling for guests with respiratory issues, as exposure to mold can exacerbate their condition. I strongly advise future guests to thoroughly check the bathroom and other areas for signs of mold before laying down their belongings, especially if you have respiratory issues. This experience has made me question the overall cleanliness and maintenance standards of this hotel, which I would expect to be much higher at a Marriott property. Be vigilant and take precautions, especially if you have health concerns that could be aggravated by mold exposure. This stay was far from the quality and comfort I expect from Marriott, and I hope the management takes serious steps to address these problems

We are regular guests of this hotel since it opened. We are noticing some decline in the care and maintenance of the hotel in recent months. There are large stains on the carpet in the lobby and very noticeable areas of mildew in the shower where the caulking needs replacing. The fan in the bathroom is intermittent. Not deal breakers but not what one would expect from a hotel of this caliber and not what we have previously experienced here. Disappointed to see the decline in care for the hotel. On the upside, we are always well cared for by all the staff and especially appreciate the morning hospitality.

I don’t where to start. Check was good but everything fell apart when I got to the room. I turned the shower on and water was gushing out through the side pan area and flooded the bathroom floor. I then flushed the toilet only started by the successive crazy loud noise that would last for 2 to 3 minutes. A wall panel that was covering the electrical fell off in the middle of the night and scared me. I plan on staying here for five days and the final straw was the next morning when I went down to do laundry. They have one washing machine which is an old machine and there’s no chance of getting your clothes in there because there’s tons of clothes laying on the side so people are waiting for hours. The overall feeling of this place was just depressing and I would not go back and I would never recommend this place to anyone. Sure there might be a few rooms. There are nice but there’s something in the hotel that is depressing.

This is a very well-designed hotel. The rooms are large and beds are soft. The large shower has a footrest for women who want to shave their legs. It has a frameless shower door and one can turn on the faucet without getting wet! It is one of the best designed hotel rooms I’ve ever seen. There is a decent free breakfast in the morning. It is located right off the highway near a trendy mall and a lot of great food options. I will be back!

I used to live in the area and came back for a family event. The location is very convenient to restaurants, stores, the freeway, and more. The hotel, as well as our room, was clean and modern. The room had everything we needed, including iron, hair dryer, fridge, microwave and more. The breakfast, which is included in room rate, was excellent, with so many options, and everything was fresh, including sliced fruit. The woman who oversaw the dining area was very attentive, friendly, and kept everything clean. My request for a late check out was honored, which was really helpful, since I had a late flight. Will definitely stay here again.

I wish I had read the reviews before booking. The beds really are awful. The mattress was the most uncomfortable I’ve come across, and I am not a light sleeper. I could sleep on anything. I tossed and turned all night. And where were the amenities? I stay at Marriott properties often, and one thing I always loved is that they would have dispensers filled to the rim with body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. This location gave 1 tiny bar of soap, 1 tiny tube each of everything else; shampoo, conditioner, lotion. Customer service was lacking as well. Front desk was down right rude. Most of us our coming in from long stressful traveling ventures. Their front desk staff could be more considerate of that fact and treat us with more care and dignity upon arrival. And I don’t care about member status. I have status because I travel a lot for work and have accumulated elite status as a result. But at least acknowledge it. Their staff could care less. My Titanium status was over looked completely. Beware status holders, This location would make you reconsider your loyalty.

If you don’t mind bed bugs and roaches, you’ll love it here.…Gross! Zero stars! The bed was so uncomfortable. Mattress was hard as a rock. Turned on the light to the restroom during the night, and roaches went running. Woke up covered in bites. I went down to the front desk, the girl couldn’t even look at the bedbug. She just laughed awkwardly. No refund. To say the least, I do not recommend Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott in Folsom.
