Camere un po’ datate ma spaziose, pulite e silenziose. Faceva un po’ troppo caldo in camera per noi. Hotel con reception attiva 24h su 24, vicinissimo all’entrata dei musei vaticani. Una stella in più per la gentilezza e la cortesia dello staff. Fermata metro più vicina Ottaviano.

Albergo in zona Ottaviano. Sulla posizione poco da dire: basta guardare la cartina! La zona è davvero ben servita. La struttura è un po' datata, si vede. A colazione prodotti buoni, non eccelsi, ma con una varietà molto ampia: in pratica c'è tutto quello che serve. Ma quello che conta di più, è che rende questo albergo davvero indimenticabile è l'ospitalità del personale. Sempre disponibile e sorridente. Consigliatissimo.

A Roma per un’udienza a San Pietro, concessa da Papa Francesco ai pellegrini reduci dal Camino de Santiago, abbiamo trovato questo grazioso hotel, collocato in prossimità delle mura e dei Musei Vaticani; l’hotel è raggiungibile dalla stazione Termini, giovandosi della linea A della metropolitana, direzione Battistini, fermata Ottaviano, e percorrendo poi poche centinaia di metri a piedi. Il portone esterno è generalmente chiuso, e bisogna suonare per farsi aprire; una volta entrati, si accede alla piccola portineria (aperta h24), e si viene accolti dal gentilissimo personale, che si è rivelato prodigo di informazioni e molto efficiente nel corso dell’intero soggiorno. La nostra camera si trovava al terzo piano (con ascensore). Stanza sufficientemente spaziosa, dotata di un comodo letto, un’ampia scrivania, un capiente armadio, con cassaforte all’interno; ambiente pulito, che ci è stato rassettato quotidianamente. Bagno confortevole e molto pulito, dotato di morbidi asciugamani (cambiati giornalmente), asciugacapelli, e delle canoniche amenities. Qualche problema nella regolazione del riscaldamento (troppo caldo per noi), che veniva gestito ed impostato via computer dalla portineria; semplice ed immediata la soluzione, con una semplice telefonata al personale di turno. Molto tranquillo il sonno, grazie ad un buon isolamento acustico. Possibilità di lasciare i bagagli in deposito, di cui ci siamo giovati, vista la partenza del nostro treno nel tardo pomeriggio. Non abbiamo approfittato della colazione, che abbiamo preferito consumare in un forno poco distante dall’hotel.

Soggiorno last minute per un impegno di lavoro. Reception aperta 24 su 24 con cortesia e dedizione non comuni. Posizione strategica per una visita veloce in San Pietro (circa 10 minuti a piedi). Camera pulita e spaziosa. Colazione sufficiente. Nei dintorni possibilità di pranzare o cenare in vari tipologie di ristoranti.

Don’t let the age, the old-school room keys (which you can leave at reception when you leave for the day or night out) or the minimal rooms fool you. The staff, day and night, are amazing and proud people and the conversations are engaging. Temper your expectations for breakfast, although the gentleman-chef is clearly passionate and does what is possible. The lift to the rooms works perfectly well for when you arrive and depart. The rooms are massive (if you opt for larger rooms, not necessary though) and the beds are comfortable and clean. Your location is a major plus and for certain overrides any inward cringe you may experience at first. A good reminder is of where you are and what you’re getting for your money; value and history. A must-visit pub is Morrison’s which is a 10 min walk from the hotel, and you can follow the walls to Vatican City as your landmark. Metro from the Colosseum was a bit more complex to navigate than some other cities, but if you keep your wits about you all will be fine. Temini is where you should aim for. For arrival, taxi from airport may be your better option and is recommended. The hotel is a wonderful charm.

- The room was dirty, the walls were scuffed. - The bathroom had black mould throughout. - The wash hand basin had no plug. - The bathroom was dirty. - The actual toilet was stained yellow in the bowl. - The room had little storage. - There were no charging points or power sockets near the bed. - The hotel was hard to find, an unmarked doorway with an intercom. - There was no tea and coffee facilities. - Toiletries supplied were two 20 ml bottles, which weren't replaced after day 1. - There was no WiFi in the evenings as it dropped for prolonged periods. I've included a photograph of the queue for the Vatican Museum taken at 6:20 am. The museum opens at 8am. From experience I can tell you that it takes 2 hours from that point to get entry to the museum. That means these people were likely to stand for 3hrs and 40 minutes to reach the ticket desk.

We only used Hearth Hotel for luggage storage. Stasher luggage. It was efficient, safe, reasonably priced and two minutes walk from Vatican Museums. The staff, Enrico, when we checked in was ready, informed and waiting for us. Marco, when we picked up, was the same. Both we thoughtful and provided us with lots of local knowledge and information. Based on this, I would Use stasher again Stay at Hearth Hotel

Nous avons séjourné à l'Hearth Hotel dans le cadre de notre city-trip à Rome. Cet établissement est situé juste à côté du Vatican. Il dispose d'un arrêt de bus et d'un métro à proximité (pratique pour voyager rapidement dans la ville et faire un maximum de choses). Quand on sort, on doit laisser notre clé à la réception et nous pouvons rentrer quand on veut car l'hôtel reste accessible 24h/24h. Nous étions vraiment entre de bonnes mains. Les différentes personnes à la réception durant notre séjour étaient toutes très gentilles, souriantes et professionnelles. Elles faisaient même l'effort de parler français, malgré le fait que je comprenne l'italien, mais pas ma compagne. Elles nous ont également renseigné quelques astuces et de bonnes adresses... Les chambres étaient un peu vieillottes, pas comme les photos que j'avais parcourues sur Trip. un petit rafraîchissement serait le bienvenu. Il y avait un peu de moisissure dans la salle de bain. L'isolation acoustique n'était pas géniale non plus ! Le plus gros point noir, mais qui est imputable à l'hôtel est que la mairie de Rome interdit de chauffer en été et d'utiliser de l'A/C en hiver pour des raisons écologiques. Nous étions au 2ème étage et il faisait assez chaud et malsain dans notre chambre... Il était difficile de trouver le sommeil car, soit on avait chaud, soit on ouvrait la fenêtre. Une fois que cette dernière était ouverte, on était exposé à divers bruits (circulation, piétons, restaurant, commerce et même une personne qui crie à 2h du matin qu'il va tout casser...). Le petit-déjeuner se prend au dernier étage. Il est vraiment correct sans être totalement complet. Un employé, très gentil au passage, vient nous servir en boissons chaudes et, si le temps le permet, nous pouvons nous installer en extérieur et profiter d'un chouette cadre pour le petit-déjeuner (voir photo du dessous). L'hôtel possède aussi un bar mais je ne l'ai pas fréquenté. En résumé, en sachant que c'est un 3 étoiles, il faut juger en conséquence mais je trouve cet hôtel dans la moyenne, à la limite d'être décevant. La proximité avec le musée du Vatican et la gentillesse/professionnalisme des membres du personnel sont leurs plus gros points forts et relèvent la note... 3,5 qui tend vers le 4 étoiles !
