Fairfield Inn & Suites Rome NY

The staff was horrible. They were not helpful at all and had no answers for anything. The rooms were terrible. The curtains were torn and had holes in them. There was no privacy in the room at all. And the girl at the desk had nothing to say about it. And was not willing to even look into changing the room for us. We were traveling with my 80 plus year old parents, after one of them just getting out of the hospital and they put us on 2 separate floors. There was stains on the sheets and pillow cases. The carpets were filthy. The bed frame stuck out so far beyond the mattress that you tripped over them or bruised your shins on them. There was no access to laundry soap or any thing else for that matter to do laundry. I was told that I could go out to one of the local grocery stores to get what I needed. With the road construction all around them it was difficult enough to find the place let alone go looking for a grocery store. I would never recommend this place to anyone. I would drive another 50 miles to find something else.

We stay at this hotel at least 3 times a year for my daughter's dance competitions. This weekend her competition was canceled and she cried...not because of the competition, but because we wouldn't be going to Windgate to see Miss Judy. We decided to go anyway. The hotel is well priced and always clean, but what sets this place apart are the folks that work there. I have never found anyone there who wasn't pleasant, but Miss Judy is in a league of her own. She knows my daughter by name the moment we walk in and greets her with a hug. It feels more like we are going to visit a grandparent than staying in a hotel. She is awake all night for her shift and greets us in the morning with her Sunshiney disposition as if she had just arrived. I couldn't imagine staying anywhere else.

We love this hotel and staff. Brenda went out of her way to make our visit comfortable. upgraded flat screen TV's and breakfast always fresh and hot. Few issues with our room but was noted for repair promptly.

Overall a good place to stay on a short trip with a family ....room was clean ,staff was polite location was convenient and breakfeast was more than acceptable but the ownership unfortunately simply does not fix or put $ back into his business when needed The Gas Fire place in lobby which would have made a fairly nice lobby and breakfeast area even nicer and more inviting had some string lights throw in it instead of the faux fireplace......staff said there was a gas leak that couldnt be fixed which seems like a excuse to me being the place is relatively new . Again not a deal breaker until then the real line of bs came when we went to the pool area .... Big sign on the door saying sorry heat in pool area is out and needs to be fixed which wasnt terrible and could easily happen anywhere and could be fixed iam sure but once we went into the pool area we confirmed we simply had a business owner who likes to take money out but is clearly reluctant to put it back into his business ...The HOT TUB which is still currently advertised was there at a time until it was filled in and over with concrete ...yes not out of order temporarily filled in with concrete Now I know where iam staying and its reflected by the more than fair price advertised and I was happy with 85 % of the stay but come on .....cant fix a fireplace,no heat in the pool area and then the proof this wasnt a string of bad luck for the owner with getting repair guys to fix stuff when it breaks .....when a hot tub breaks in a hotel you fix it plain and simple and if you clearly were simply to cheap to make the repairs then at least also take down the evidence that there was one there in the first place Tile over it take down the signs and most definitely remove it off your advertisements please

This hotel is clean with a nice pool, friendly front desk staff. I'm not sure of the opening date but it seemed new. Breakfast has many options. The only downside is it's not close to downtown to go to popular places to eat dinner. We would stay here again.

The check in was fast and easy. The hotel was clean and very eye pleasing. My room was spacious and very clean. The tv was 50 to 55 inches. The room was great. The pool was clean and nice! The gym was ample and clean. I am really enjoying my stay. Thank you for the breakfast as well
