Hotel Waldfrieden

We typically stay in 4* Austrian hotels, so that is my reference when writing this review. This is a beautiful, well organized hotel next to the lift and in between 2 skislopes. All (!) staff worked hard and did everything they could to make our holiday pleasant and provide what we needed. Everybody was very nice. It is noticable that people enjoy working here. When they ask if everything is fine, they ask it because they care and not because they must ask. A special thanks to our waiter Manfred who was proudly sharing his knowledge on how to fold the servetten with the guests. The food I would describe as traditional Austrian, but made in a 5 star way. Kudos to the chefs! More than enough and really delicious. For children the buffet is limited, I advise to ask the waiter what better options there are. If food is finished, they nicely arrange the buffet, so that you are not confronted if you came late. When I asked, they even made food fresh for us. Swimming pool is fantastic with beautiful panorama and comfortable water temperature, even after a whole day skiing. The saunas are the best I have ever experienced. Although we had our own (!) finnish sauna in the suite, we also used the saunas downstairs. They even have sauna types I never heard of (like aroma sauna with spices, gorgeous, a must try).

We have been here a few times, and it gets better each time. Family run hotel in perfect location with lovely staff and superb food. Lovely indoor pool and wellness area. Ski in and out for a good part of the season. Otherwise, only 100m from the main Hochwurzen lift or bus stop. Friendly bar with great service from Martin. Nothing seems too much trouble. Oh, did I mention the food?

Excellent quality food staff and location. Ski in ski out and also opposite the Hochwurzen gondola. Family Hotel run by the Stockers and what a great job they do. We have stayed here before and will stay here again. Wonderful breakfast, afternoon snack and truly delicious evening meal(choice of 3). Indoor swimming pool and extensive wellness area. Well done Family Stocker.

Wir verbrachten mit unseren 2 Kindern (11,15) unseren Sommerurlaub im Hotel Waldfrieden. Wir waren sehr zufrieden. Das gesamte Hotel ist sehr sauber und hat eine angenehme Atmosphäre. Das Essen ist hervorragend, das gesamte Personal samt Chef äußerst freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das Hotel hat einen schönen Wellnessbereich mit Schwimmbad, Saunen und Entspannungsbereich. Spielzimmer mit Kicker ist vorhanden sowie Tischtennisplatte. E-Bikes können vom Hotel geliehen werden. Die Aussicht ist wunderbar mit Blick auf den Dachstein. Direkt gegenüber liegt die Bergbahn Hochwurzen. Für uns als Familie hat sich die Dachstein Sommercard gelohnt, diese bekommt jeder Gast pro Aufenthalt. Wir werden auf alle Fälle wieder kommen!
