I have stayed at Hotel Roermond and Hotel Roermond Next Door quite a number of times when I am working at our Dutch office. Location wise, it is spot on, right next to the train station and the local bars and restaurants. One thing to note, you are next to a pub that is open until 0200. I must add, it's a brilliant pub with wonderful staff, but it's not so good when you're woken up because of the noise coming from those drinking outside. The Dutch know how to party so keep this in mind! The windows do keep out the noise, but as someone who struggles to sleep without fresh air, I had to keep the window open rather than keep it closed and use the AC. The room was clean enough but disgustingly the toilet has never seen a brush further down, you can see the months of excrement coated in the more hidden part of the toilet. Check in is at the Hotel Roermond, staff are friendly enough but usually there is only one on the desk, this can cause a lengthy wait to get checked in. Breakfast used to be decent, but it is very poor now. The hot options are scrambled egg, egg, or a mash of egg and bacon. Not much else to the point I just avoid it now. Now the worst part, I had two brand new Tommy Hilfiger poloshirts (with the tags) stolen from my room. The day before I bought 3 new polos and on my first night, picked one of them to wear. The other two polos sat on top of my suitcase. The next two days were long days at the office so we did not go out, it wasn't until the last day that I realised 2 were missing. At the time I did not bring this up with the hotel, just in the off-chance that I did not bring them. However, after getting home, it was quickly confirmed that all new polos did travel with me, and that 2 of them had gone missing. I phoned the hotel who later confirmed that nothing was left in the room, I then followed this up with an email to say that I was not happy that items had gone missing from my room. The hotel confirmed that the CCTV did not see any outsider access my room but refused to acknowledge or investigate the missing Poloshirts. I decided to leave this a week or so before writing the review, but after speaking with my Managing Director, it was agreed to write the review and to ensure none of our staff stay at Hotel Roermond or Hotel Roermond Next Door again. Very disappointing
