A very big thank you to the entire team at the hotel and restaurant for the fantastic weekend. The staff at reception, bar, restaurant, kitchen and housekeeping deserve 5 stars. We are completely satisfied and our expectations were far exceeded. Thank you very much.

One of the best restaurants we have tried. The setting is superb, in the old jailhouse revisited, with a modern twist. The staff is outstanding, beautiful to look at, supremely knowledgeable and friendly. A special nod to David the maitre d. As to the food, it’s blown away good. This is Michelin star material and more. Do not miss.

We visit Holland every year & travel around always staying in van de valk hotels. We have always found them very comfortable, convenient & great value for money. We had originally booked the Palace van de valk hotel in Dordrecht, but had an email previous to us arriving, to say there was currently work being done in hotel & the use of lifts not possible. So we cancelled & chose to stay at Arresthuis hotel instead. We found it quirky but a little officious on arrival. The carpark could be a problem as very small, but we were lucky each day fortunately. We had to pay for use also! The room once we got used to the Wow feeling of being a former prison cell, was ok but lacked the comfort & warmth of our usual van de valk experience. We would also like to point out that they have NO ENGLISH TV at all!! We found that totally unacceptable for a 5 star hotel & complained about it. As our weather was bad throughout our stay we were in our room more than we would normally be! Nothing they could do they said as they hadn’t got Uk tv on there package deal! We did not eat in the restaurant, as found the prices of the set meals only far too expensive. This is not a van de valk experience we are used to & will definitely not be returning. But, I see from a lot of reviews, that a lot found it to their taste. So each to their own I guess.

Experience was excellent from beginning to the end. Welcoming service, notification in advance about road works around the hotel, great parking space... The venue is just nice, I have been in a few former prisons as a hotel, but this is so far clearly the best. Decoration well made, room was tidy and had everything needed, comfortable bed etc... Breakfast jus excellent, served to the table so very relaxing, and you can pick one dish from breakfast menu for free - Eggs Benedict worked well, and fresh orange juice... Again, all staff members were super friendly and welcoming. Strong recommendation! Location also very good in the city center. I don't know what more to wish!

The staff was incredibly kind and accommodating. The hotel itself is impressive, with a cohesive and inviting concept, and the location is unbeatable. It's within walking distance to the beautiful historic town center, yet still offers convenient parking. We couldn't have asked for more.

We celebrated our 32nd wedding anniversary with you and also stayed overnight. The dinner was wonderful and the room was very nice. Great hotel, great staff. Thank you very much.

Excellent hotel, if you visiting Roermond , this is where you should stay. The staff is very friendly, quite big rooms, super quiet, and the all decoration of the Hotel is super interesting!!, Different, you will definitely enjoy the experience , plus the restaurant is amazing!

Great hotel, very supportive staff the room is in high standard, all you need it's in the room for you. I liked the design very much. Food was also great. I recommend the place.

Since 12 years we come regularly to Het Arresthuis and its restaurant Damianz. It has grown to a top 5 star hotel without that sort of arrogance these houses usually have. You feel like part of the family. The restaurant Damianz is a place of absolute food enjoyment. Why does it not have a star by Michelin jet? For us the food and presentation is better than some star restaurants we know. It is always worth to travel from far, as we do since years. Highest recommendation!!!

Its always great. We love it to be there. And the Restaurant Damions ist perfect! we stayed there several times and will be back soon.

an amazing place with the most amazing staff!!!! set in the wonderful Roermond, this hotel exceeds any hotel I have stayed in. if you are reading this review I highly recommend this hotel, nothing is too much trouble for the staff!!!
