Start of holiday review, day two. St Lucia has a small airport and it’s so easy getting through it. The British Airways agency staff (reps) are visible as soon as you exit on your right. We were quickly shown to our transfer mini bus and we were warned about the long transfer (almost 2 hours drive due to some traffic) and bumpy ride (nice way to see some of the island). The hotel seemed smaller than we imagined but this is not a negative. Crystal (confident and friendly) on reception saw to us on arrival and we paid our tax (6 USD per night, per person) and a 200 USD using a credit card and this is refundable at the end of your stay. The rooms were as we expected, ‘3 star standard’ and also taking into consideration the price point. Comfy beds, clean white linen and towels, towels changed daily. Iron and ironing board, hair dryer in top drawer, FREE safety deposit box, coffee machine that can also be used just for hot water, fridge with smalls bottles of water and this is replaced daily, TV, good air con unit. The decor is tired and the rooms smell a little fusty but I think this is because of the air con units. Bathroom is dated and the hot and cold taps in shower take some getting used to, no plugs in basin or bath. Also, all electric plugs are UK 3 pin so no need for adapters. I believe all rooms face the sea front. The main bar is in the lobby and the main restraint is at the side which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. The snack bar is at the side of the pool. The Italian restaurant is opposite reception, so are the toilets. I think the oriental restaurant is part of the main restaurant (I think, not used it yet). Pool bar as it is and there is also a very small bar above the snack bar which is open on an evening but it has strange seats and layout for around 10 people. Excellent staff, Alma and Patricia are so welcoming and so are the rest of the team. Different characters, some more friendly than others (not a negative). The breakfast is 4 star, variety, quality and service. My personal favourite meal, plenty of seats, no queues, amazing omelettes and crispy HASHBROWNS!!! Plenty of fresh fruit. Lunch by the pool bar is seated and a waitress service, small menu but all very delicious. Wraps, salads, burgers, fries. Not used the buffet yet for lunch. Dinner, I can see how some might not be that amazed by the variety and standard. I’m a bit fussy and don’t eat meat on the bone, chicken is drum sticks and thigh, pasta a bit dry with limited sauce but the soup, rice dishes, select of salad is acceptable. The drinks are good, (no Heineken lager) but the wine, sparking wine and cocktails is very good. You only get straws from the main bar in the lobby on an evening. There is also water and coffee available from the lobby from around 6am I think. The beach is 4 star and you can put a lounger from the hotel by the sea but there’s limited shade snd it is very hot. The pool area is not as busy as you think and there’s plenty o
