Southern Surf Beach Apartments

The Southern Surf Beach Apartments were a great place to stay on our trip to Barbados. Located right across the road from Rockley Beach and in close proximity to a variety of restaurants and convenience stores. The apartment was extremely clean and well equipped. The king size bed was extremely comfortable and having a unit on the ground floor, the access to the beach and the pool was very easy. However, the single best part of our stay was the kindness and hospitality of the management. Andrew and Trudy couldn’t have been any more accommodating or welcoming. They were there to make sure our stay was everything we hoped for. We will be back.

Another fantastic stay at Southern Sur,twice in the same year,that should be enough proof that if you want a self catering style holiday,with all the amenities you could wish for this is the place for you.Andrew the proprietor and Trudi make you feel most welcome and nothing is too much trouble.The 4 bedroom villa on the complex has had a major refurb in the kitchen area and with AC throughout the villa if you are a larger group I would definitely recommend a stay here. Apartment was clean, practical, enough space and with the amenities, including full kitchen and balcony, needed for business or holiday. A great and affordable option to the hotels of the are (have stayed at five different hotels in Hastings so far (this one included), and I would choose Southern Surf again. Small pool area in the back, although I didn´t use it since the beach is so near. Location just across the road of the beautiful (and seldom crowded) Rockley beach, with supermarkets, cafes, restaurants, shops etc. walking distance. There is no cafe/breakfast at the hotel, but honestly breakfasts at the other hotels I have been at are not spectacular either. Nice breakfast options according to (almost) every taste; a banana bread at Italia coffee, down to Earth full breakfast at Picasso´s, upscale breakfast/brunch at The Park café (Starbucks for the unadventurous not worth mentioning) and more. I love Hastings/Rockley for its nice beach(es), walking distance to all you need, not being too touristic, the pleasant boardwalk and more. The road is quite noisy both day and night, though, but that is Rockley for you I guess. In a way part of the vibe. Very friendly and helpful hosts, afternoon departure was no problem which really makes a difference when you have an evening flight on the day of departure. Warmly recommended

Great apartments with everything you need to enjoy your stay. Andrew and Trudi are very accommodating and always ensured everything was to our satisfaction. Location is ideal. The apartment is clean and well kept. Appliances clean and in good working order. Beds are perfect after a long day enjoying all the Caribbean beach life and sea has to offer. My only complaint is I wish we could’ve stayed for 2 months instead of 2 weeks. Lol! Thank you for everything Andrew and Trudi!

I had to plan a last minute trip to Barbados and decided to take a chance (in my mind) and stay at Southern Surf Beach Apartments instead of one of my larger go to hotels. In my over 20 years of going to Barbados, I must say this place and the management not only didn't disappoint but exceeded my expectations. Andrew was so hands on from beginning to end (i.e., answering my questions prior to booking, after booking, even welcoming to the hotel after a delayed late evening flight (way later than standard check in times) and throughout my stay). The accommodations, location and amenities were perfect for my stay and I look forward to returning. I felt very safe, the environment was very clean and the overall pricing was quite fair. I highly recommend staying here as I did not want for anything. In closing, this is a small family run business which I was happy to support.

Very friendly and helpful manager(s) - happy to oblige with all our requests. Great location, right across the road from the beach, and shops/restaurants nearby in both directions. Room was good - fully equipped kitchenette, comfortable beds and good shower. Definitely hope to go back (when we've saved for the airfare!).
