This was a Christmas gift and what a gift the spa was spotless, relaxing and beautifully decorated. The meal that followed was amazing Farah who shown us around was informative and spent time chatting to us. In the spa you get your own changing room with a hairdryer and straightners and a shower in there. Incredible well done Stanley House.

Dated: 6th December 2024. I was gifted a voucher for an overnight stay package from my son and daughter inlaw for my 50th birthday, I was really looking forward to having desi afternoon tea but unfortunately when it arrived I was very very disappointed, the quality and quantity was not good enough, the only desi savoury i got was 1 bite size pakora, 1 mini pizza bite, 1 spring roll, half kebab , i was expecting a full desi afternoon tea just how there menu says but clearly it wasn’t. I didn’t get any Indian sweet savouries with it nor did I get any sandwiches. It took more than 30 minutes to arrive and when it did, we didn’t get the sauces and was told by the staff that it comes with brewed tea when we asked for ginger desi tea. We checked on there website and the desi tea menu clearly states it comes with sauces and desi ginger tea, when we clarified with the staff, she went to the kitchen and asked the chef and he said he will prepare the sauces and tea for us. As I was biting the pakora it was raw from inside and burnt from outside, complained to the staff and she took my plate of the savouries to show the chef and he was sorry for it. I didn’t eat any of the desi tea and had to leave with disappointment. Customers shouldn’t be showing what the menu says to the staff. it clearly shows that there menu and pictures are very misleading with false information and the prices are very high according to the quantity and the quality of the food they serve. Overall besides the desi afternoon tea we enjoyed our stay with dinner and spa. Dinner we only enjoyed because they had fish & chips on the menu unlike the last time we stayed they didn’t have fish & chips on the day and we didn’t enjoy the food we ordered. I would not recommend any of my friends and family to come for desi afternoon tea at Stanley house hotel and spa

Had a fantastic experience here at Stanley house spa for my Aunties birthday, the staff couldn’t have done enough for us to make sure the day was extra special. Would highly recommend it, thank you for having us! I didn’t get everyone’s names I think one lady was called Grace, Thank you again

From the moment we arrived, at a family wedding, we were given a first class service. We attended a family wedding & the staff were excellent & helpful. Specifically Tracy, head of housekeeping, Vic who worked all day & was still dancing at midnight as she served drinks in the bar & Rodrigo, who had an amazing and infectious personality. Nothing was too much trouble & even when we had an issue to be resolved, it was done with a smile & good grace.

Stayed overnight and again it was fantastic . Even from check in we were made to feel extra special and looked after, our room was available early .we first did the aqua thermal bathing which was super clean organized and extremely relaxing . The spa staff are so friendly and helpful , I had a drift away massage which was lovely and relaxing my therapist even delivered extra pressure which was great so thank you for that. Our room was ground floor in the Manor House which is the stunning old building which has so much more character than the new site rooms personally my favourite. We ate lunch in mr Fred’s we were served by Rodrigo who was probably the most attentive and polite server I ve ever encountered in my life. And again at evening meal Rodrigo did not fail with fantastic service . This made the visit even more special . I even was able to order my favorite desert even tho it wasn’t on the menu so well done to the chef thank you for the best lemon posset I ve ever had . All the staff in service were very prompt and professional. Had a great sleep the room was lovely. Breakfast was a fantastic treat so much fresh fruit and a lovely cooked breakfast . Every time we visit Stanley house we are made to feel like the most special guests I hope it never loses its charm . I can never fault this place . Special mention to lexi front desk she s a lovely girl with a very calm ,relaxed and professional. Can’t wait to come back thank you to everyone who made this trip amazing . Danielle and Jennifer

Service in the bar/ restaurant was horrendous! Staff clearly not trained and no management around. Felt like a 1 star service! Hotel rooms and grounds were nice but spa is tiny and was flooded plus had broken beds! Wouldn’t return or recommend as my party of 16 spent a lot of money and didn’t have a great time!

I attended the spa last week with my mum for a special treat following a very rough year for both of us physically and mentally. Upon arrival, we were asked to wait in the ‘holding area’ where other guests were seated. I immediately felt uncomfortable as it was very quiet in the room and you could hear everyone else’s conversations. Certainly not a relaxing start to the day. We were then shown our locker and given information regarding the spa before being escorted downstairs. My mum is registered disabled following a stroke so struggles with stairs. Consequently mum used the lift to access the spa. There were no free hooks to hang our robes and towels on, and as the floor was wet, we didn’t want to put them down. We had to move someone else’s things along a rail and squash ours on. The floor was obviously very wet and slippy yet there were no rails to support someone who may require them. There was no seating other than the four lounger beds, however these were being used by other guests. The pool as not very warm however with limited facilities, we didn’t have much choice than to sit in it. We were extremely disappointed with the limited facilities, and other than the sauna or steam rooms, there was only the pool. Consequently, we were bored after 30 mins as the pool was not even big enough to swim in. A member of staff queried what time our lunch was booked for as she felt we would not have time to get from the spa to the restaurant. However, we were not informed of this at the time of booking, and were told this couldn’t be changed and that we would need to leave the spa early to get there in time. To try to ‘speed things up’ the staff member brought the menu to the poolside for us to pre order. She had to squat down to show us the menu, which very uncomfortable as everyone could see and hear what was going on. The menu had a choice of only four main courses which neither myself or my mum liked. We were told that this was the menu for the day and that we would need to ask in the restaurant if there were any alternatives. Consequently, we felt that we needed to leave the spa even earlier to allow time for us to shower and dress before our allocated lunch slot. I had to go upstairs in my wet things to get our items from the locker which I felt was ridiculous, especially with mums limited mobility, and when there were lockers in the changing room downstairs. Mum tried to use the disabled shower, however there were no toiletries in there, so she had to struggle in the main changing area. There are only two changing cubicles and as they were occupied, we had to get dry and dressed infront of other guests with no privacy. Mum then went to dry her hair and found that only one out of the three hairdryers was working, and that there were no straighteners provided. Very poor compared to other places we have been to. When we went across to the restaurant, we asked about an alternative menu and were told we could order anything from the main

I came to dine in Fred’s restaurant and the food service was slow, however when it came out it was delicious. Shoutout to the restaurant staff especially Maahira for going above and beyond. She really made our night. Would definitely recommend
