Hotel in zona Trail to Kolymbia Rock, Rodi

Innanzitutto dobbiamo ringraziare Piero che alle 4 di mattina ci ha accolto e consentito di riposare in una zona tranquilla della hall in attesa di check-in. La struttura è molto bella a pochi passi da 2 spiagge, una convenzionata con uso di ombrellone e lettini, e vicinissima alla via principale dove ci sono negozi di ogni tipo. Il cibo ottimo e gli addetti alla ristorazione tutti gentili, ma Romeo col suo sorriso è stato veramente unico. Abbiamo noleggiato una macchina presso la struttura e visitato l'isola in autonomia. Un grazie anche a Tsambika e Rena della reception che ci hanno agevolato come possibile. Purtoppo non torniamo quasi mai nei posti visitati, ma se dovesse succedere toneremmo sicuramente qui.

The hotel is clean and well maintained and the staff are helpful and friendly. We didn't eat in the bar so I can't comment on the food but it looked good and plentiful if a little overpriced! Be aware though that almost EVERYTHING is an extra so budget quite a bit more if you want to use sunbeds, air conditioning or wifi. We didn't as the costs were outrageous. We had a Superior Studio apartment and the beds were very comfortable and the room cleaned daily. We didn't find any of the 'complimentary' toiletries which they advertise although we had a lovely but empty liquid soap dispenser! The shower is really good and would be better if the shower screen had been bigger. They do supply a squeegee for you to remove all the water that sprays all over the bathroom floor. The shower has a fixed head and can't be adjusted and there is a switchable hand shower head for squirting your 'bits'. A good hair dryer is provided. The biggest deal-breaker for us was that in no way was it a fully equipped self-catering apartment. There is NO KETTLE, NO TOASTER and very little of anything else in the way of kitchen equipment. A coffee peculator is provided which is useless (and I stress useless) for making tea. If you want to self-cater, the very reason we booked this hotel, don't bother booking here. You will be very disappointed. If you want to eat out there are many very good restaurants within very short walking distance. You'll be lucky to get breakfast before 10:30 AM though. If you are a light sleeper then think about what it would be like sleeping within one meter of your fridge compressor turning on and off all night long. The balcony is far from private and ours had only a view of an orange tree which was sprayed with chemicals (I assume) every couple of days! It was right next to the walkway to all the other apartments which is great if you want to meet everyone while you're trying to eat your boiled egg and no toast breakfast washed down with lukewarm tea! All in all we had a great time in Rhodes and this hotel could so easily be made to be perfect but sadly I really think they are more interested in taking money than providing a comfortable self-catering holiday experience. Still gave them an above average score though for all the good reasons stated above but we won't be staying there again for all the many bad reasons. Be sure to check out the Royal bar just round the corner. The food is wonderful, the owner and staff are fantastic and the prices reasonable. A bit further on is the San Allotte restaurant which is equally good (maybe better) but more expensive.

Amo questo 2* hotel vicino al porto e 5 minuti in città antica. Ideale per chi vuole una base e essere fuori e circa come nessuna piscina per lounge che ci ha assolutamente adattato. Opzioni sono B&B o Room Only. Non sono una persona per colazione, ma sembrava fantastico, ho prenotato una camera doppia per un singolo lavoro. Includevano Frigo, TV, Air Con, Safe, Bagno era un po' datato, ma tutto andava bene. Capisco che andrebbero aggiornati. Il personale era carino e molto amichevole. Pensavamo che avessimo avuto fortuna sia con la posizione che con l'hotel stesso. Non poteva essere più felice.

Inizio la recensione dalla stanza, che per noi era la più grande dell'hotel, nella parte nuova. La stanza è veramente ampia, con enorme terrazza e rarissima presenza di tapparelle ad azionamento elettrico. Bagno nella norma, non ampio come il resto della stanza. Inspiegabile assenza di armadi o contenitori, si rimedia in parte con ampi gli ampi ripiani disponibili. Clima e frigo efficienti, cassaforte disponibile senza sovrapprezzo. Parcheggio dispobile subito fuori dalla stanza. Colazione a buffet molto fornita, sopratutto considerando le dimensioni dello spazio usato. La cena merita un discorso a parte. Digerito a fatica il surreale orario 18-20, le prime due sere ci viene servito al tavolo in buona sostanza ”quello che passa il convento”, con un nostro certo sgomento. Successivamente e per fortuna è stato allestito un buffet. In questo la scelta è passata in sostanza da uno a due piatti principali, entrambi secondi, entrambi di carne o carne/pesce,con un paio di contorni. Antipasti scarsi o assenti e primi piatti non pervenuti. Bevande non incluse, vengono servite a richiesta ma in pratica potete anche portarvi le vostre, visto che non si formalizzano. Quello che c'è è comunque solitamente buono e ben cucinato, se non si è particolarmente schizzinosi difficilmente si esce affamati. Non esiste un'area ristorante interna, si pasteggia comunque a bordo piscina nell'area bar, dove nella piccola cucina vengono anche preparate le pietanze. Il bar/ristorante (anche alla carta) in generale non invita granchè al consumo e comunque chiude inesorabilmente alle 21.00, scordatevi quindi di fare serata in hotel, anche se in realtà rimane aperto l'altro bar nell'edificio multiuso (magazzino/hall/bar/camerino), sostanzialmente però presidiato solo dalla persona che fa la notte. Piscina non grandissima ma tranquilla durante il giorno. Pulizia della stanza effettuta tutti i giorni ma molto migliorabile sui pavimenti. Condizioni generali della struttura buone, non conosco quelle del blocco stanze vecchio, più grande. Mezzo proprio assolutamente obbligatorio se non ci si vuole accontentare del comunque utile servizio navetta con Faliraki. Questo non lo ritengo un difetto in quanto unico modo di godere appieno delle isole greche. Trovo francamente risibili e imbarazzanti le considerazioni negative di altri utenti sulla posizione, in quanto è l'unico dato verificabile con certezza in anticipo. E' una struttura a gestione totalmente familiare, e proprio questo è forse il suo limite maggiore. Il personale è comunque generalmente gentile e disponibile in tutto. Alla fine come rapporto qualità/prezzo a noi il tutto è risultato più che accettabile, anche tenendo conto delle caratteristiche limitate della mezza pensione.
