Archontiko Old Town Suites

Last minute booking we were lucky to get. Warmly welcomed by the owner and shown to our room. We dropped off our cases then went to explore Rethymno. Beautiful hotel in an old Venetian building. The roof top was amazing with 360 views and a bar. Had a lovely night's sleep and the shower was amazing. Complimentary water and raki was a nice touch. Wholeheartedly recommend this quirky, beautiful hotel and the very kind owner. Thanks

We spent 3 days at Archontiko. The place is conveniently located in the heart of Rethymno, yet in a quiet street. The room is cute and was perfect for out stay. There is a rooftop terrace, where you can enjoy a drink and have a rest after a long summer day. Archontiko offers breakfast that is different from the plain breakfast you have at almost all Greek hotels. A toast or a pastry, milk with muesli, fruit and espresso, specially prepared for you. We liked the special attention of the hosts Kostas and Alena with whom we discussed our plans to explore Crete. They are very kind and cool people that you rarely meet even in Greece.

I’ve never written a review in which I talk about how helpful the owners are— I’ve usually made all the plans and have everything organized. But in this case there’s a lot to know about Crete and the owners really helpful! Such a beautiful hotel - only four rooms in the heart of the historic district. The owner Alonya and her husband Kostas are incredible. They sent detailed and perfect parking instructions long in advance. Kostas gave us detailed and helpful ideas for our outings. He sent us more travel ideas on WhatsApp - even after we left- like a small beautiful beach not in our guidebook - a suggestion that saved the day later in the trip. They also run a cafe on site so you can get cappuccinos or Aperol spritzes (or the delicious and huge breakfast) and sit on the rooftop terrace. There are only four rooms, all of which have their own baths (small- it’s the historic district). We had 3 of the 4 rooms and all were lovely and quite similar, although top level ones have view and are quieter. Safes in rooms. They have a great plan with bottled water where they give you filtered water in glass bottles - so much more eco friendly than plastic. This type of attention to details exemplifies the owners’ thoughtfulness and attention to comfort at this beautiful romantic hotel. 10/10 recommend.

excellent boutique hotel to stay in the old town of rethymno, Crete. ALYONA C. is a great helpful owner, ably supported by her husband. both make your stay pleasant. Alyona is helpful in organizing your sightseeing trip. she uses Status MLB travel agency. The tour agency served us (six people aged between 65 to 85 yrs.) with an excellent bubbly always helpful driver, Anna, and tour guide with excellent knowledge, Georgia Negative points if any is some shower stalls are for petit people, and no lift. But rooftop beauty scenery is added advantage.

Very nice hotel in the very center of the Old Town. Beautiful rooms, all the necessary facilities for a comfortable stay. I advise everyone who wants to really have a good rest and relax in a very beautiful place.The hosts are very friendly. Thank you!

Hôtel très bien situé en plein centre ville. Nous avons beaucoup aimé notre chambre mais avons trouvé la salle de bain petite et vieillissante (dommage aucune photo de cette dernière sur les sites). Le petit déjeuné est bon mais il serait beaucoup mieux de faire un menu car difficile de savoir ce qu on va avoir lors de ce petit déjeuné. La météo été grise et le petit déjeuné n est pas servi sur la belle terrasse panoramique mais dans un salle intérieure voûtée. Attention aux personnes sensibles à la luminosité car aucun rideaux occultants.
