Spotlessly clean comfy and well equipped rooms with lots of storage space, friendly and helpful staff and good food. Lovely grounds and easy access from the motorway. What more can you ask for. Would definitely recommend for a chilled weekend away

Rooms were clean and comfortable, shower over bath was adequate but could have done with handrail for safety. Friendly, helpful staff Delicious food, especially the breakfast. The full English set us up for the day Near to Pennine Trail if you fancy a walk

Very nice hotel, rooms large and well equipped. We had breakfast, dinner on one night and a high tea on the following afternoon. All meals were well cooked and presented. Parking at the hotel was easy with plenty of space. All this for a very good price.

The room was a good size and was clean and tidy in general but in need of some repairs in places. The evening meal was bland and my husband ordered the beef wellington which was supposed to be served with dauphinois potatoes but came with mash and my chicken dish was supposed to be served with a red wine jus and came with gravy. Desserts were a big disappointment and we both left them. There were 2 functions taking place (a wedding and a 30th birthday) and at 10pm we were told the hotel bar was closed and was only available to those guests and we were told to go to our room. This was totally unacceptable on a Saturday night I do not expect to have to go to bed this early and when we complained, staff just shrugged their shoulders. We then had to spend the next 2 hours in our room listening to loud music and all the wedding guests who were gathered outside of our room. The experience was a Christmas gift bought by my son and it was very disappointing.

Lovely Sunday spent at the Sitwell Arms. Everything was great but rowdy children. Sounds awful but was off putting. Once at our table food service and customer service exceptional . Food hot service was great . Will be back! Good value for money

Took Advantage of Fab Friday deal. Great time was had and excellent value for money. Pleasant and cheerful staff from check in to check out. Very spacious room with the added bonus of a separate show and bath. Food was superb and the portion sizes are generous. Huge shoutout to James in the restaurant who looked after us excellently on a very busy evening. Breakfast is good with everything you need. But the room for breakfast desperately needs refurbished as it feels very outdated compared with the rest of the hotel.

I love it here great food, excellent customer service. I went for lunch on Saturday and was excellent. They have the door open for children to go in and out to play. Saturday I was only slightly cold but could put up with it. Eight of us went for lunch on Easter Sunday. The usual door was open and I had mentioned being cold on the Saturday so asked to be seated in the warmer bit on Sunday. Two sets of children were sat near us and were going in and out every 5 minutes out of a different set of doors, so two doors open. We were frozen which totally spoilt our lunch. We kept closing the door and a staff member did once but the kids just kept going in and out and their parents let them leave the door open and didn’t care about the impact on others. Then staff were using the door and left it open. No objection to children playing but either use one door or put a sign up saying please close the door behind you. Everyone should enjoy not just some people. They were very under staffed too for the amount of people inside and out. The staff that were there worked very hard and were rushed off their feet. I am not sure we will go back now which is a shame, but always feel cold especially for the elderly too. Need a better system to please all not a few.

Lovely lunch but Gluten-free Yorkshire puddings are needed to complete the Sunday roast dinner experience for Coeliacs so they are not excluded from the enjoyment of the whole experience. The score would be five ⭐ with Yorkshire puddings. The Gluten free Sticky Toffee pudding was delicious.
