On arrival managed to get parking space, registered and greeted, no problem. Inside Travelodge was surprisingly quiet. No electronic card, just physical key. Unable to lock the room with a double lock once inside so didn't feel secure. We then immediately went for food with services conveniently close by. On our return we attempted to have a shower. The tap wasn't working properly and the shower connector would only pull up after a lot of work and then only deliver scalding hot water (mixer part didn't work). We gave up on showering. I reported to reception, there was no other room available. We had a family room. Sat on the bed and we all noticed the smell of poo. On inspection I was horrified that the blue upholstery had human excrement on it. I was unable to sleep in the bed. We would at that point have given up and left but our daughter was staying in another room. Instead I tried to sleep on the kids camp bed next to window with window open for ventilation. Come 6.30am and I couldn't get out there fast enough. I spoke to reception again about poo on the bed they didn't seem interested. I've emailed customer service no response.

Great customer service from the receptionist. I forgot some stuff and he kept them for me two weeks . That is commendable. Unfortunately, I did not pick his name but he is at work tonight 30/10 and handed the stuff to me.

Stayed for three nights — very quiet and comfortable. The booking was easy, staff were friendly, and everything worked as expected. It’s simple and functional, offering exactly what you need — a clean, quiet place to rest and freshen up. The receptionist on the late evening shift of 16 October was especially helpful when I asked to switch rooms, simply because I preferred one facing the green instead of the car park. Even though it’s situated on the M4 services, you can barely hear the traffic, which I loved. Handy location too, with Costa, Greggs, Burger King, and M&S nearby. Would happily stay again.
