Niyagama House is by far the most beautiful and peaceful retreat we've ever visited. We were thrilled to return for the fourth time. Practicing yoga with Elke is always a highlight—she has an extensive knowledge of yoga and leads inspiring classes, but what truly sets her apart is her sweetness, humility, and wonderful sense of humor. Elke is the perfect hostess. The shalas are the most beautiful spaces we've ever practiced in, and the house, with its stunning architecture, is impeccably clean. The pool and pool area are top-notch, and the food is absolutely delicious. A walk through the lush garden, surrounded by a variety of plants, birds, and monkeys, only adds to the sense of tranquility. Niyagama House is the ideal place to find peace of mind, calm, and balance. We're already looking forward to our next visit!

It was a last stop in our round trip in SriLanka. During our trip we stayed in many hotels (on 5* star) but in Niyagamahouse we felt like 6 or more stars :) Clean, amazing hospidality, food was excellent, rooms and treatments were perfect. We were like in the middle of jungle surrounded by different sounds from nature. Everyhting was in balance. We felt like in heaven and really looking forward to be back in NiyagamaHouse.

This was our second time at this beautiful place. This time breaking our journey from UK to Australia. We stayed for 4 nights and enjoyed every moment. Beautiful environment, spacious room, good food, great yoga, pool. Thanks Prasad for looking after us. Great for seeing birds and monkeys. If you can drag yourself from the pool, the walk around the village is really lovely and a taste of the unhurried Sri Lanka with friendly hellos everywhere. Treat yourself and go there. BYO alcohol. Beware Australians now need a visa for Sr Lanka- not that anyone checked them at the airport?

I had a fantastic 5 days yoga retreat. Great food, great atmosphere, great location but above all great people who makes you feel so welcome. Elke is a fantastic yoga teacher with an exceptional eye for the individual needs as where Prassad is serving the best meals and drinks. Love this place

What a gorgeous relaxing place! We stayed here 2 nights (would have loved to stay longer but we were in lack of time) and enjoyed a lot the environment and the garden. We could spot a lot of beautiful birds in the garden and the purple faced langur. Beautiful and large swimming pool. Perfect rooms! The service and staff were excellent! The food was our best experience throughout our whole trip in Sri Lanka. We travel around the world since 30 years and this accomodation comes in our TOP 3. We highly recommand! Thanks Elke and the whole staff for this amazing and unforgettable experience! Lies & Sven

Thank you for the best stay! The kind host, delicious food, and polite service helped us to recover from the fatigue of our trip. The yoga lessons were very educational and fun to participate in. Also, the morning meditation helped me to detoxify my mind. This is the best hotel in Sri Lanka! I was really happy to be able to talk to the host, who had such a nice personality. I will definitely come back next time I come to Galle. Thank you for the best stay!

I spent 10 days at Niyagama house in November on a Mindset Yoga Retreat. This was the most wonderful experience in an ideal setting. It was a peaceful, nurturing, and luxurious resort with wonderful food, massages, pool and staff. If you are looking to just chill and relax with day trips into the area it’s perfect and also wonderful to come home to from a day out exploring. The yoga was awesome! We tried the aerial yoga which was great. The week long program of mindset yoga and mindfulness training with Elke was integral to my making positive life changes. I would highly recommend both the resort and the packages available even if you could only stay a few nights.

I recently spent ten days at Niyagama House at a mindset yoga retreat. This included daily yoga practices in the morning and late afternoon, morning meditation sessions and learning about self help through EFT practice. It was a truly wonderful time of calm and focus, together with improving my flexibility and learning and discovery through the EFT process. Elke was a patient and compassionate teacher throughout our time and I would highly recommend this retreat. Even if you are not a yogi I would recommend Niyagama house as a beautiful oasis of calm amongst the tea plantations with amazing birdlife. Elke's husband is also the chef, who prepared delicious and varied Sri Lankan dishes throughout our stay. The accommodation was also lovely. I would recommend the a room with a balcony to experience the wonderful birdlife if you are an early riser and you may also see a few monkeys in the trees!

We stayed only 1 night in our 10 days honeymoon trip in Sri Lanka and we can just say we regret not staying more time in Niyagama House. It was really great to stay in such a nice, calm and heartwarming place! Everyone was very attentive in our stay. The manager Prasad and the owner Elke (with whom we had a wonderful morning yoga class) were incredible in providing us the most personalised stay and experience. The breakfast was amazing! Again, we just regret that we didn't stay there enjoying that environment a few more days.
