We travelled to Reni Pani as the 2nd stop as part of a three stop tour (Tadoba Waghoba Lodge, Satupa and Kings Lodge at Bandhavgarth) in April 2024. Our stop in Satpura was overall enjoyable. I’ve scored our stayed based on our experience at the lodge and not on the National Park, however, I have commented on the NP as that’s probably why you’d stay here. We arrived to a warm greeting after a long drive from Tadoba. The Lodge itself is in a beautiful spot, surrounded by trees, you feel like you are in your own little Jungle. Some nights you will hear the lodge dogs barking, who knows what is lurking outside! The central dinning area is very nice and there is a library next to it with the Wifi spot. We had meals in the dinning room and outside by the pool. My partner has specific food tolerances and we had sent these ahead via our agent. Indeed, we discussed this almost immediately with the head naturalist (acting as manager at the time), the hostess and the restaurant ‘captain’. Unfortunately, whilst the senior people seemed to know about these issues, when it actually came to meal times the servers didn’t. Whilst it wasn’t a major issue, it does get very very tedious having to send food back time after time because she can’t eat it, it gets frustrating after it happens again and again and also when they don’t replace the food she can’t eat with something she could. We went for High Tea on the Wednesday afternoon that the park is closed and after waiting for ages someone appeared and we had to ask for the high tea. My partner ended up with one piece of cake she couldn’t eat as there just wasn’t anything else suitable and I had a sandwich - that was all as nothing else was offered. Not really the service you expect! The senior staff were always very apologetic after, but it was always after the event. We didn't mention the high tea problem as we just got fed up with having to mention food 'issues'. You end up up feeling like youre the one with the problem even though its the lodge who keep messing up. When the food was served it was plentiful and very tasty. Breakfast was a treat out on the drive. There was no ‘menu’ for guests to see (if there was I never spotted it) which would have been nice to see what you were going to eat. Our Room (1) was delightful, spacious and spotlessly clean. Id say the best of the trip overall. The bed was massive but VERY hard, when asked about our nights sleep we did mention this but it took another night to sort out. The only downside is that there was no wifi in the room. Yes, I know people will say you need an escape but it is nice to be able to speak to the kids at home. We did try this on a couple of nights in the library but there were other people there so sometimes difficult to have a private conversation. At night due to there being possible animals about you needed to be accompanied to your room, so once there you were there for the night as there is no phone either to ask to
