I had an extremely disappointing experience at the Amazonia Jamor Hotel, which did not live up to its advertised standards. Upon arrival, I encountered several major issues that made my stay impossible: Non-Functional dirty Air Conditioning: Despite assurances from the front desk that the air conditioning was operational, it clearly wasn’t. The room was hot and uncomfortable, making it impossible to relax or sleep. Non-Working Refrigerator: The refrigerator in the room was also non-functional, and when I raised this concern with the staff, I was told that this was the standard for the hotel. The dismissive response to "grin and bear with it" added to my frustration. Unsanitary Conditions: The cleanliness of the room was completely unacceptable. The carpets were visibly filthy and contributed to an unpleasant and unsanitary environment. Worse yet, the room smelled strongly of dampness, and both the bathroom ceiling and bedroom curtains were spotted with mold. Shockingly, the carpets appeared to be stained with what seemed to be bodily fluids—this was beyond disgusting and completely unacceptable. Additionally, the hotel is poorly located, about 25 minutes from Lisbon, in a residential area overlooking a motorway. The overall setting was far from ideal for anyone hoping to enjoy the city or a pleasant environment. After just 10 minutes in this dreadful room, I left the hotel and have since been battling to get a refund. Despite informing the staff of these issues, no solution or alternative was offered. It is unacceptable that I was charged for a room that failed to meet even the most basic standards of cleanliness or comfort. This hotel is absolutely not deserving of its 4-star rating. I would strongly advise avoiding this hotel. The combination of unsanitary conditions, non-functioning amenities, and the unhelpful attitude of the staff made for one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever encountered.
