Hotel con piscina a Qesm Safaga

I enjoyed my relaxing stay at this resort. It began with a very nice surprise when I found out that as a Titanium Bonvoy member I was upgraded to an oceanfront suite / bungalow. (My stay was during quiet weekdays in a less busy season, so that probably helped also.) The suite was very spacious and had an amazing view of the ocean and sunrise. The breakfast was the best variety and quality I've had a hotel in Africa or the Middle East. Same with the dinner buffet. The pool areas are well kept, despite never seeing any guests using them. The bank machine by the front desk didn't work with my card, however it gave a great rate when I exchanged my British Pounds for Egyption Pounds. Most of the staff were friendly and great, especially the elite guest relations team who emailed me before my arrival and the managers who introduced themselves to me when they saw me on my first day. Housekeeping did a great job too (clean room, water bottles and coffee supplies always restocked, cute towel art), except for an isolated incident that was quickly addressed and rectified. The gym was the only noticeable negative, and was the worst gym I've seen at a Marriott resort property. Very little equipment, and very dated and worn out or broken. However, this wasn't much of a problem, because the coastal pathway is an oustanding place to go for a morning run. If you run to the west end of the pathway and back to the Sheraton, it's a 10k run. I also enjoyed going out to the end of the jetty in the mornings and snorkeling in the reefs that were full of colorful marine life. This hotel is very worthy of a 5 star review. Thank you to all the hard working staff who work hard to ensure enjoyable stays. I will be back.

Rieccomi, dopo 5 anni a tornare in questo albergo (quarta volta). Anche per colpa dei bambini che amano questo albergo e per il periodo. Prima le cose negative: Grazie al fatto di essere un cliente abituale e con la platinum card ho ricevuto un upgrade... Col cavolo! Prima mi dicono che nel loro sistema possiedo ancora una gold card e all'arrivo mi dicono che ormai le camere sono tutte occupate e che ormai é andata... Non me la sono nemmeno tanto presa per l'upgrade non riuscito (avrei potuto farlo con 500€) ma per come volevano ricompensare il mancato upgrade. Comunque, sembra essere un problema comune quello di aver problemi di accesso al sistema o di non vedere le prenotazioni. Spero possano risolvere prima o poi. La member card Gha sembra non funzionare. È come non averla. Ma sono piccoli problemi, se si pensa a come sia fantastico l'albergo. Enorme, stanze grandi come appartamenti interi e mobili belli e di qualità. Tutto curato fino ai minimi dettagli (anche se ora le salviette nei gabinetti alla lobby sono di carta e non più di stoffa). Il cibo al buffet é una goduria unica... E non si vede l'ora di passare al dessert con i dolci tipici egiziani. Questa volta l'albergo era molto affollato e lo si notava anche dal passo di corsa dei camerieri ;) Ma anche così, non si ha mai l'impressione che sia un albergo che lavora con la quantità... Non esistono braccialetti colorati (come negli alberghi in cui si viene trattati come animali) o cene a turni... Questo viene apprezzato tantissimo! I bimbi ora hanno 4 e 5 anni e possiamo finalmente goderci un enorme reef (a 1km dall'albergo con un shuttle service gratuito). Tante attività, una spiaggia pulita e con tanti eventi (sunset music, camel riding, mini market, piccolo reef) a 50-100m dall'albergo che rendono questo posto/albergo eccezionale. E come se non bastasse, pur essendo un Kempinski, i prezzi sono onestissimi! L'acqua in camera c'è sempre, in spiaggia viene regalata e una pizza portata all'ombrellone costa circa 10€. A quel punto ti chiedi: ma perché in Italia un albergo 2 stelle senza ombrellone, senza piscina e senza reef costa quanto un albergo a 5 stelle con 6 piscine e ombrellone in prima fila in Egitto? Ormai ha sempre meno senso cercare un albergo in Italia, quando in Egitto trovi un paradiso in tutti i sensi e un servizio NETTAMENTE migliore. In poche parole: piccoli inceppi da parte del servizio fanno parte di tutte le giornate, ma sono piccolezze in confronto a quello che viene offerto.

Bravi! Quando l'organizzazione funziona e la struttura va di pari passo il risultato non può che essere eccellente. Gentili e professionali alla reception anche se non ci hanno accontentato sulla richiesta di un primo piano...pare non fosse possibile. La spiaggia, considerato che siamo su una barriera meravigliosa, ottima e pulita in continuazione. Bagnino sempre presente con gentilezza ed attenzione. Bar ottimo sia nel caso del centrale che di quello del diving. Camere pulite e razionali, non manca nulla. Unico piccolo neo per dovesse aver problemi a passeggiare la distanza di alcuni blocchi come il 21/22. Ristoranti tematici da provare, anche qui super gentili con cibi ben fatti. Ristorante centrale, Orangerie, eccellente per qualità, rotazione dei cibi e presentazione. Qualcuno potrà lamentare la mancanza di cibo italiano ma il resort è internazionale, la pretesa a nostro modo di vedere è fuori luogo. Coltivano loro gli ortaggi... Menzione speciale il Bar The Rock che davvero per l'aperitivo o il dopo cena è spettacolare. Bellissimo anche il bar sopra la piscina anche se noi abbiamo sempre preferito gli spazi aperti. Bravi a tutti! Diving Extra Divers incluso che gestisce con grande capacità ed organizzazione il pontile, lo snorkeling e tutte le attività relative. Organizzano escursioni per tutti i gusti e capacità.

Il resort sulla spiaggia di Solymar non è il più costoso nella zona di Hurghada/Safaga, ma non è nemmeno il più economico. Per questo motivo, ci aspettavamo che fosse abbastanza nella media in termini di qualità. A ogni angolo, siamo rimasti piacevolmente sorpresi e deliziati. Il personale è stato cordiale e cortese: alla reception, al ristorante o quando si passava accanto a qualcuno che annaffiava l'erba, si è certi di ricevere un caloroso benvenuto. Tutti sono veloci a conoscere i propri clienti: dopo solo un giorno nel nostro solito posto sulla spiaggia, Ahmed conosceva il nostro solito ordine. Anche i membri iper-energetici del team Magic Entertainment sono stati veloci a stabilire un rapporto e a farci sentire inclusi nelle vibrazioni del resort. Ci siamo immersi immediatamente in un relax estremo con un ”massaggio da luna di miele” alla spa, che includeva del tempo nelle saune secche e a vapore, uno speciale rituale di esfoliazione dell'hammam su una lastra di marmo riscaldata, un impacco di fango del Mar Morto per tutto il corpo e un massaggio con olio. Le massaggiatrici erano loquaci e giocose, forse non per tutti i gusti, ma questo sembra essere il modo egiziano e mi ha sicuramente fatto sorridere e ridacchiare. Non c'è un momento della giornata in cui potresti rischiare di rimanere a digiuno. Dalla colazione anticipata nel ristorante principale, alla colazione tardiva in spiaggia, alle bevande e agli snack offerti durante il giorno al bar della piscina e al ristorante, c'è sempre un'ampia gamma di scelte di cibo e bevande di qualità. C'è una certa variazione tra le opzioni giornaliere e vale sempre la pena dare un'occhiata all'area ”fresco dalla griglia” per vedere quale potrebbe essere la specialità del giorno. Parte del soggiorno include un pasto complementare in uno dei due ristoranti alla carta (italiano/egiziano) dove il cibo è di un livello o due superiore a quello servito nei buffet. Vai affamato: il pasto egiziano includeva un antipasto di mezze calde e fredde, una zuppa, una portata principale e un dessert (con menu alternativi a base vegetale e per bambini). Il resort ha fatto molto per garantire che sia eco-friendly. Oltre alla solita richiesta di appendere gli asciugamani per risparmiare acqua sulle pulizie non necessarie, purificano anche la loro acqua, che viene lasciata nella vostra stanza in bottiglie di vetro refrigerate (ha un sapore un po' strano, ma fa bene al pianeta). Nel complesso, consiglio vivamente il resort Solymar.

La struttura è abbastanza datata anche se cercano di manutenerla nel migliore dei modi (l'età si vede dalle vasche da bagno nelle camere, nei lettini della spiaggia, nelle porte stesse delle camere e nel mobilio). Poichè il villaggio è isolato dal resto del mondo (è impossibile uscire a fare 2 passi perchè siete nel deserto) consiglio di portarsi qualsiasi cosa da casa, altrimenti verrete spennati come polli nei 4/5 negozietti interni). Da Italiano, posso dire di non avere avuto problemi a trovare del cibo, 4/5 sere a settimana grigliano sulla terrazza del ristorante principale (carne o pesce), ogni serata ha un tema diverso, spettacolare quella del seafood (sempre da Italiano sconsiglio di prendere la pasta, precotta alle 9 di mattina e poi ripassata in acqua calda e condimento al momento dallo chef, prendete il riso che lo sanno fare). Devo fare i miei complimenti a chef Mohamed Sayed, un vero artista sia nel preparare i dolci che i piatti salati, molto bravo anche lo chef del Ristorante Taj Mahal. Frutta e verdura non mancano mai (uva e arancia tutti i giorni, mele, banane, melone e anguria a rotazione). Una sera hanno organizzato una cena di festa nella zona del teatro preparata molto bene. Le camere, come in tutti i resort, sono estremamente spaziose, quelle ai piani alti hanno anche un bel balconcino vista mare/piscina mentre quelle al piano terra hanno il piccolo giardinetto. Purtroppo la struttura è decisamente molto esposta al vento (non solo in spiaggia ma anche in piscina, si salva un po'la zona della piscina relax) e alle correnti (parecchi erano i kitesurfer in zona). Dal pontile potrete scendere a fare snorkeling (l'acqua non è altissima) e se siete fortunati potrete incrociare anche una o più tartarughe marine nella zona delle alghe dove l'acqua è più alta. Bravi gli animatori, coinvolgenti ma non opprimenti. Gli spettacoli serali durano una mezzoretta, una volta a settimana c'è il beach party, l'elezione di miss/mister villaggio e il music quiz che durano di più. Da migliorare, sicuramente, per ottenere il massimo dei voti: l'orario di apertura del pontile (quando le giornate sono lunghe si dovrebbe poter usare dalle 8 alle 19, i momenti migliori per lo snorkeling), i lettini della spiaggia, i succhi di frutta (ormai da anni non si usano più quelli liofilizzati), aumentare il numero dei tavoli nel ristorante principale (lo spazio non manca) per evitare attese lunghe negli orari di punta ed evitare che gli uccellini entrino beatamente a banchettare nella zona del pane o, peggio, direttamente sui tavoli (basterebbe mettere una copertura a chiusura della veranda esterna), metterei anche un paio di docce in più in spiaggia. Nel complesso, non fosse per il vento eccessivo, tornerei più che volentieri!

Poor hotel for a holiday. It was my 20th visit to Egypt over the last 6 years, so I have a comparison because I have stayed in 3, 4 and 5 star hotels. First of all, you can smell cigarette smoke everywhere - outside the hotel building, there are smokers everywhere and the beach itself is dirty with cigarettes. Deckchairs on the beach are ”reserved” in the evening, the day before. In the morning at 8 there are almost no free sunbeds, workers on the beach turn a blind eye to it for money. The cuisine is aimed only at meat eaters, vegetarians are screwed - seriously. The free internet in the lobby does not work. Finally, the creme de la creme is when guests log out after starting only on the 7th day, which was supposed to be fully usable. You lose your all-inclusive wristband, your room and only dinner on a voucher from the reception. When I talk to the receptionist that it is not in accordance with the contract, they lie and blame it on Tui. I spoke to a Tui employee and he confirmed the hotel's lie. Bathrooms are old and moldy. The hotel service was fine, the hotel itself was clean and cleaned regularly. I certainly don't recommend it.
