Grand Islander Hotel

Was very warm and humid, with several lights nonfunctional and flickering

Grand islander Really enjoyed our stay. Comfortable beds and a clean room. I just really wish our room would have had a mini fridge, it would have made our stay much more enjoyable.

We didn’t have a great experience. They have no elevator. Night one, had no air conditioning, room extremely uncomfortable. Old outdated rooms. I let front desk know on Saturday AM. SAT 730PM anxious to enjoy swim up bar/hot tub. While I was changing into suit at 730 pm they closed pool.I walked out to check if it closed & door our closed. We werelocked out of room. Went to get a card key to get back in. Front desk, Axle,GAVE us a set of KEYS. I inserted & turned & it broke with no pressure at all. Went immediately back to front desk to be told it wasn’t a room key but GOLF cart keys!!!! Then we were given new card key and we got in room. Shortly later Axle appeared at room door confronts me & calls me stupid for not knowing that key didn’t go to my room & why is my card declining? Earlier in day I’d lost my card on island and had to cancel it. they were trying to automatically charge my credit card $300!! For the broken key! They forced us to remove 300 in cash were rude, intimidating & THEY were the ones who gave us a golf cart keys! Furthermore, we didn’t even have a cart. So it took 2 bouncers & 2 men running front desk. One named Axle with curly hair. Btw I’m 5’2” disabled lady. I was afraid all night. In AM I went to desk, he was still working. Glaring at us. I asked to see mgr. none on duty, was to,d they wouldn’t be in til afternoon but owner was on site. We met owner who said it’s end of season. They don’t normally act that way. No acknowledgment of how much they scared us, intimidated us and he refused to credit us for night lost. We left hotel and island a day early. This experience ruined our visit. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Beware of charges and intimidating men working at night. Very SCARY!

We enjoyed our stay only negative was there was no bar fridge or microwave in the room and we could have used both. Otherwise it was fine.

My husband & I booked a Queen room and received a double. Elevator didn’t work and stairwell smelled of urine. All three front desk staff over our stay were rude. We travel a lot and this may be our worst experience ever .

The Riot House The Hotel is pretty much a dorm, with it being attached directly to Level 2, the only true “nightclub” in Town. The rooms are much closer to a roadside motel than a city Hotel. But look, come to Put In Bay for the party and not the hotel stay. The hotel is right dab in the middle of the party so we expected lots of noise and shenanigans. There were a few arrests right outside of our first floor window and a few fights after hours when people just couldn’t handle their alcohol. But you’re a short walk to everything on the island. Check in was quick. Rooms were clean enough.
