What went wrong? Practically everything: 1. Despite arriving at 1:00 pm for the 12:00 pm check-in, we weren't allocated a room until 3:30 pm due to unpreparedness. Upon inspection, the initially promised room wasn't ready either, as the door handle was dysfunctional. 2. The ongoing construction lent an unpleasant ambiance with plaster patches, broken corridors, and pervasive construction debris. 3. Room quality was subpar, featuring damp patches, bed bucks and a musty odor. The air conditioning unit was filthy, seemingly untouched for ages. 4. Rather than addressing our concerns, staff attempted to upsell higher-category rooms, an ineffective sales tactic. 5. An inconvenient 8:00 am checkout time added to the frustration, despite our late check-in due to traveling with elderly relatives. Silver linings: 1. Despite managerial shortcomings, frontline staff were accommodating, extending a late checkout until 12:00 pm, earning commendation for their efforts. 2. The onsite dining experience offered decent fare at affordable rates, with attentive staff willing to accommodate special requests. Unfortunately, positives end there.
