Punta Gorda Waterfront Hotel and Suites

Bed was not comfortable. Water pressure was a dribble. Creamer was curdled. Fire alarm.wike us at 8am.

The place definitely needs an update but was cozy nonetheless. The staff wasn’t overly friendly but very helpful. The area was quiet and beautiful.

We were coming from out of town, to visit the Punta Gorda seafood and Music festival. My husband booked 2 nights for the P G Waterfront Inn. We arrived to find the hotel boarded up and locked. The roof was damaged, walls were stripped by the hurricane. Why is this hotel still listed on Price line? We sat in the parking lot and booked another hotel. In Punta Gorda. Who is to blame? Price line or P G waterfront Inn?

We got a waterfront room which had a great view of the bay and Peace river. This hotel was a mixed bag, so here are the pros and cons: Pros: friendly staff, room was clean; king bed was comfortable; microwave and refrig. Cons: the wifi signal was so weak it was unuseable; two tiny pieces of soap in the bath; no coffee maker in room; breakfast was just a few pastries, cereal and one coffee thermos that ran out quickly. Also, there was no telephone in the room in case you needed to call another room or the front desk. In all my decades of travel, I don't think I've ever stayed at a hotel that didn't have a phone in the room. Weird. Overall - okay place to stay for a night or two. If you're wifi is important to you, make sure you get a room with a useable strength signal. Also there was a band playing loudly on the pier outside for hours on a Tuesday night; don't know if there is music in the evening on other nights also. Just a consideration if you need to turn in early to get up early.

We stayed here for one week . When we arrived to the room we noticed there were no tissues. The website said there would be a blow dryer and a coffee maker in the room. Our room didn't have either. Since we got in late we just went to bed. In the morning we called the desk for a blow dryer and tissues. We assumed we would have to get coffee in the breakfast room on the first floor. Housekeeping brought us a blow dryer and a roll of toilet paper for tissues since the hotel didn't have any more tissues. We noticed a sewage odor in the room. We called the desk. They said they'd have maintenance look at it We ran a few errands and thankfully the odor was gone when we returned. The pool is in a great location, right on the harbor but all the furniture was rusted and/or ripped. They are very stingy with their towels! One day I put the towels that we had used for a couple days outside the room to be replaced with clean towels. When we returned from the beach the dirty towels were gone but there weren't any clean towels in the room. I went back down to the desk to ask for towels and the receptionist rolled her eyes and said she would call housekeeping. Thirty minutes later still no towels. Housekeeping didn't answer so I called the desk. She didn't seem to think it was a big deal that I had been waiting 30 minutes for a towel and said "oh, they just delivered towels to the desk, you can come down and get them." So..... I went back to the desk to get the towels, it was pure chaos at the desk. I had to wait in line another 15-20 minutes for the towels. The room locks and keys were hit or miss, The last day of our stay none of the 3 room keys we had would work. They had to make us new keys. This hotel is in need of updates, and a good cleaning! The carpeting in the room was stained. There were cobwebs above the curtains and throughout the corridors. The staff members weren't very friendly or helpful. The location is great, but I don't think I would stay here again !

Stayed one night, while moving our boat from Charlotte Harbor to Safe Cove boat yard. We only needed a good night's sleep, a decent shower and air conditioning. This place fit the bill. Carmelo's, one of THE FINEST RESTAURANTS IN PUNTA GORDA, is across the street, so that's a definite plus. If you don't mind carpets that look a bit past their prime, and are looking for a mid-level hotel, directly on the park and harbor, I'd recommend.
