Hotel a Puno, Perù

I do not like leaving negative comments. But this hotel does not qualify for the 5 stars shown on the hotel plaque nor is it the 4-star hotel as listed by our travel agency. It is a 3-star facility and not even at the top of this rank... The lounge and bar are nice and well-kept. The restaurant food is ok but not spectacular. The lake view is nice though not from every room. The rooms seem to have been waiting for major renovation for years and years... We arrived with the PeruRail train from Cusco - together with about 10 other couples, just like us most of them individual travelers. The front desk could not cope with this ”rush” and room assignment took some time. Our ”prime sunset room” was small and unpretentious, i.e. plain, old-fashioned style, worn furniture, a bathroom with a scratched door, a tub with a plastic curtain (reminding me of cheap US chain hotels in the 80ies) that did not prevent the flooding of floor and toilet seat when taking a shower. There was a stain on the linen. And we had a problem with the room temperature. The display on the wall showed 27°C and we tried in vain to switch the temperature to 18°C for the night. When contacting the reception desk we were told that the rooms had no A/C but heating only. Their advice was to open the big panorama window... ”Don't worry. There is no insects at Puno.” We opened it during our absence for dinner but had to close it for the night. And the temperature was still high... To be fair I would like to add that the staff was nice. But the hotel itself was a real disappointment. I wonder how they got so many top evaluations in December 2023 from people who had never before evaluated any other hotel...

Quelqatani hotel это было настоящим спасением. Мы ехали сюда из Арекипе и по дороге из 30 градусной жары нас настигла пурга и резкое похолодание аж до -5. Такой перепад был резким, шёл снег. Мы резко в автобусе переодевали вместо купальников куртки и дико замёрзли. Отель подготовлен к такой температуре. В номере было тепло. А внизу стояли кислородные баллоны, так как Пуна это высокогрный город. Мы провели здесь совсем немного времени, но были окружены заботой и вниманием. Здесь очень спокойно, просторные номера, отлично работающий вай фай и вкусные завтраки.

Estivemos hospedados 1 noite no Hotel Hacienda Plaza de Armas, que fica no coração de Puno e gostamos muito. Com apenas 30 quartos, o hotel oferece uma atmosfera acolhedora, com corredores decorados com quadros vibrantes de pintores locais. Os quartos são espaçosos e aconchegantes, com mobiliário antigo mas muito bem conservado. O destaque do quarto é a varanda com vista para a praça, de onde você pode admirar a majestosa Catedral de Puno. Embora esteja na praça, os quartos são silenciosos pois possuem janela antirruído. O café da manha é bastante simples, com pães, queijo, iogurte e sucos naturais. Gostei bastante de ter chá de coca disponível 24h na recepção. Em caso de sintomas mais intensos do mal de altitude, você pode solicitar 5 min de oxigênio gratuitamente.

Very happy with this hotel. Stayed here a few days during our trip to Puno. The staff was friendly, attentive, and most important, the rooms were clean. Bed was very comfortable with room overlooking the Bay Area. Yes, they have alpacas cutting the grass lol. Bathrooms had plenty of hot water and good water pressure. Free WiFi. Hotel has a restaurant inside. We’re typically not hotel restaurant people, but we were forced to eat here the first night. We actually enjoyed it more than some of the restaurants we visited. The chefs did a fantastic job with the food. We voluntarily ate here one other time, tried different food, and it was still great! They have a bar, lots of drinks, wine, and beers. However, the mixed drinks were a little different story lol. Not much experience with mixed drinks from what we noticed. Still a comfy place to relax and have some drinks with great views. Highly recommend this hotel to stay and restaurant to eat at!

Buon hotel in una posizione fantastica vicino alla piazza principale. Letti molto comodi e in combinazione con leggera altezza di mare avevano il miglior sonno notturno! La colazione diffusa potrebbe essere un po 'più / piu' riempimento, ma era buono. Ci sono stati problemi con l'acqua calda in entrambe le notti che sono rimasto qui, e ci sono voluti un po', ma il personale era molto attento e lo ha sistemato.

One of the best experiences. The hotel is clean and comfortable, the staff is friendly and helped us a lot. when we left the hotel they stored our luggage, when we returned my sister was very sick, the lady from the reception escorted her to the room where she covered her and let her rest for a while. Very good experience! The hotel was marvelous and very comfortable. The personal of the front desk so friendly and all time nice we recommend the hotel and the location was perfect, very near of plaza de armas and historical downtown. Guadalupe was so kindly with us. Thank you Hacienda Puno.
