This cute log cabin was built by my grandparents about 35 years ago. The cabin is a little over 5 miles from downtown Somerset, and about 30 minutes from the lake. Play golf up the road at Eagle's Nest Country Club if you don't want to go to the lake, or play a round before the monthly car show. The road is a residential road, with little traffic. Area is very quite, and gets dark, but night time is a great for a time to gather around the fire pit in the back yard. There is enough room in the front to park several cars, and enough room to park the boat when you pull it out of the water. House also has a pack-n-play in the master closet.House includes a charcoal grill. Fire wood for the fire pit can be purchased locally if there is none in the back yard.The master bedroom has a queen bed with ample room, sleeps 2.The second bedroom has a bunk bed with a twin on top and a full on the bottom, sleeping 3. There is a sleeper sofa in the livingroom, sleeping 2 there as well. Laundry facilities are also in the bathroom. House does have internet, as well as a roku with YouTube TV in the livingroom. As well as a firestick with YouTubeTV in the master bedroom.No smoking is allowed in the house. General ruling for this sweet cottage is that it is very homey, inviting and comfortable - if you like mother nature's gifts, quiet country living, this is the destination for you - and only a few minutes from downtown somerset, etc. Imagine waking up to the sounds of mother nature's music from the birds, rooster crowing, wind curving through the trees, sun billowing through the windows to warm your soul, in our opinion, heaven on earth. Step out on the patio to hear the rustle of the breeze in the trees and let it soothe your soul, and the view - what a priceless gift. You will not want to leave. For the couples who have visited, its my understanding that it was just what they needed....we just might decide to call this spot the "LOVE SHACK". If you want a fun activity take a kayak or canoe or tube to strawberry road just a few minutes away and float down the creek. 10 minutes from six boat ramps on Lake Cumberland and plenty of convenient parking room for your boat or classic car (ask for access to the garage if you wish to put your classic vehicles under roof). Fully furnished in every way - including starter coffee.cleaning process is per vrbo guidelines, as for the cleaning, i have used a treatment called permasafe it is a permanent antimicrobial - that alone per fda kills viruses as effective as lysol wipes etc.. permasafe is on all surfaces, furniture, touch points, hvac filter, remotes etc. also we us an ozonator on all rooms after the guest leaves. after cleaning with vinegar water mixture, we spray everything down with alcohol. there is, hand soap provided for each renter. the hot tub water is flushed and treated with chlorine shock. the pool is shocked chemically every time a new renter arrives.
