Spent two nights here as part of our honeymoon. Views are spectacular and service is even better! My husband and I got in late and missed dinner so they prepared a beautiful cheese platter for us ! Eco lodge so no kettle/fridge in the room but close by in the shared dining room.

3 things we loved- staff that deeply cares and wants to make your experience special, food that reflects a staff and chef that are deeply talented, views that astound. Things we might focus on; team haven’t got control of the night sky. Too many stars.

We loved our stay at Lakestone Lodge. Spacious and luxurious guest room and lovely amenities. Our meals were prepared with care and creativity and the staff provided excellent customer service. Little did we know that our helicopter pilot would land right on the grounds to take us up over Doubtful Sound. Nice touch!

We can’t say enough great things about Lakestone Lodge. First, the location is phenomenal. The lodge itself has spectacular views across the lake looking straight at Mt. Cook and the surrounding mountain range. A pretty easy walk directly from the back of the hotel leads up a mountain range with 360° views of the lake, glaciers, mountains, and neighboring sheep farms. Just breathtaking. The lodge is also right across the street from great beach access and the Lake Pukaki Trail. In addition to the great views, the food was phenomenal. We stayed two nights, and both meals were terrific. Chefs prepared dinner that was worthy of a five star restaurant. The staff was also extremely friendly and helpful. If you’re debating between Lake Tekapo and Lake Pukaki, or even if you haven’t decided where to stay at Lake Pukaki, stay here!! You will be very glad you did!
