Great budget hotel with great staff. Good on site supermarket. Very clean 😁 although rooms a little dated. Big comfortable balconies with fabulous views. Pool bar with good food. We normally stay in sister hotel the Sunsuites have done for 20yrs but would go back to Montebello in a heartbeat as we found apartments to be cleaner, Sunsuites resting on their Laurels!!! Only minus is no AC which we didn't need in December but you would in Summer

When you go to Puerto Rico you know it’s a canyon so expect to spend time walking on hilly terrain and take good trainers for all the hills . The good thing we found about Montebello is there are access gates and different levels of the apartments this really cuts out some serious up hill walking . The room was equipped with everything we needed for our stay and the very generous sun terraces/balcony’s are excellent for more private sunbathing if desired, but please note there is NO air conditioning this was a challenge for us as it was so hot, fans can be supplied if required at a small daily charge. The pool area(with free sun loungers) and bar which are spotlessly clean are lovely, the drinks and food were reasonably priced. The on site mini market was great for getting essential items without carrying them from the main centre. All the staff were super friendly and helpful . The apartments are only about a 5 min walk to the main shopping centre . Lots of bars and restaurants . We really enjoyed the Mogan centre which is the new shopping centre with every shop you can think of and excellent restaurants, The Tipsy Bee gastro bar has amazing food I would recommend the Ribs and homemade wedges . The main bus stop is a 5 min walk where we got the bus to Puerto de Mogan (Little Venice) which is a stunning place to visit . We would recommend the Montebello to anyone looking for a clean place handy to the shops. Please keep in mind the air conditioning as we stayed in Nov/Dec it wasn’t too bad but would be very challenging in peak summertime .

Puerto Rico is great but did not enjoy the Montebello stay at all, our apartment was very small and not very clean with not many plug sockets, there were many steps to the hotel which we already knew about so that was my own fault but after a week the joke was wearing thin, will go again but not to this particular hotel ......sorry.

On arrival at the hotel, there was a warm welcome at reception. Got to our apartment and was blown away with the size of the balcony, table, chairs and 2 sunloungers, everything we needed to relax. The next day our shower flooded the bathroom, spoke to reception and in the 30 minutes we had been away to get some shopping it was fixed and towels replenished as we needed them to mop the floor. Was down hill to the commercial centre, so we taxied back after dinner, only 4-5 euros. We had sun on our balcony from first thing in the morning until it went over, so it was perfect for sunbathing all day. The cleaners were lovely and the apartment was kept spotlessly clean. The on site shop was great and prices were very reasonable. On our last day we used the pool bar for lunch before our pick up, food was lovely and so was the service. This hotel ticked all the boxes for a relaxing holiday, we have already booked to go back next year.

Only stayed here for 2 nights before moving to Anfi but we could certainly have stayed longer and will be booking again . It’s a big complex and plenty of steps but the lift system is very good ….comfortable rooms …lovely big pool …clean and inviting .poolside restaurant was well patronized …everywhere spotless and attractive …we travel all over the world and I can honestly say the shower was the best ever …responded instantly to temperature control ….very high quality . Only criticism I have is that the Sun loungers are old and tired …you are virtually lying on the frame because the fabric sinks so much …they need replacement. Overall an excellent choice at the right price …very highly recommended.
