Apartamentos La Peñita Lanzarote

Would have been really nice if I stopped there but got cancelled last minute and left without a hotel. Had to sleep on a bench that night. Now sleep on a couch at someone’s apartment. Not a nice experience at my age being of 74 with not knowing what to do or where to turn. Still traumatised by the whole experience

Another great stay in Sept it was 30+ but the 2 fans were enough didn't need the air con pool bar food is lovely bingo 2 days a week apartments nice clean u can hire beach towels €10 each a week u get that backonly problem again and it's a joke in the last 3 visits we werw told if u leave towel on sunbed for 45 mins or more towel will be removed by the lifeguard who starts at 11 so people get up at 5am put towels out then come to pool about 10.50 so the people who want to lay by pool from 8 am as we and others did there werw Jo sunbeds jn the sun left the reception staff when they come in at 9 should move all towels that arent being used at 9am I understand u want to reserve a bed but use it feom 8 8.30 it's a joke some people have 2 on top which is fine I understand they r very low so people use 2 there are plenty but fab apartments and they r closed in April poss may for refurb

We arrived at the apartments at around 1am and was greeted by a lady at the gate who promptly got us our key for our room. Rooms are spacious and clean. I’ve seen others mention the lack of air-con. But I honestly don’t think the apartments need it. Once you have the fan in the living room on and the ceiling fan in the bedroom, it’s sufficient enough to keep the rooms cool. We had paid extra for sea view and was a little disappointed to find our room backed onto a street with a partial sea view in between the restaurants. Cleaners did a good job of keeping our apartment clean and bedding/ towels were changed every two days. The grounds, pool area was kept clean and tidy. The bar staff are an absolute credit to this hotel. They were so warm and friendly. The food and drinks at the snack bar was reasonable priced and good. One of the greatest experiences we had was feeding the little parakeets who visited our balcony most evenings. I have to say this was the highlight of our holiday. The location of this hotel is spot on. You are literally on the door stop of plenty of bars and restaurants. Two very slight negatives that I noticed with this hotel. The beds were massively uncomfortable. It was like sleeping on a bench and we got very little sleep because of it whilst we were there. Probably the most uncomfortable beds I’ve had to sleep on whilst away. I also noticed and complained about people reserving loungers. Not only that, but a few selfish people were doubling up their loungers and nothing was done about it. I complained twice on one occasion. A guy did help find me a lounger. However, nothing was done about those reserving or doubling up on loungers. In all honesty, this hotel exceeded my expectations and I would recommend it to anyone who’s considering staying here.

Apartments very clean and sea view was great. Beds were really comfy and extra pillows available. Very central and such easy access on to main street through locked gates which you get a key for. They were busy when we were there but always quiet at night and always got a lounger at the pool. The pool is really.cold but it was february and was refreshing to go in. All staff we met were helpful and friendly and pool bar staff were great and a wide variety of food snacks and drinks. Also a shower room to use if you have a later flight which was good. Will definately return

We have been staying here for 3-4 weeks for 10 years, visiting at least once a year (except over Covid) and we have always found it ideal for us. We first went there due to location as we have always had problems with walking up slopes, and much of PDC is very hilly. More recently, we have found a shower over a bath (and the bath itself) not possible and, despite a complete change of reception staff, we have, on request, been allocated a room with a walk-in shower, and no stairs to negotiate. The rooms are good sized, they are cleaned regularly, towels etc changed almost daily. There is plenty of room for clothes to be hung up. There are plenty of restaurants nearby and the bus to Arrecife/Costa Teguise and to Playa Blanca stops very close by.
