We had been to Hotel Radan, Prolom Banja twice before, in 2010 and 2018. This time we stayed for three nights. Since our previous visits the hotel has been done up considerably and so now is even better than before. The rooms are comfortable and functional. They may not be large but there is room for clothes and other belongings with useful shelves and drawers for small items and the bed was extremely comfortable. The room was perfectly clean. There were enough sockets for our phones and laptops and the wifi signal was strong. The bathroom had a good shower. There was also a pleasant balcony on which to sit outside. There was no safe but a notice informed us that we could use the safe at reception, though we did not make use of this facility. Prolom Banja is famed for its water which is on sale in bottles throughout Serbia. As well as being good to drink it is supposed to be good for the skin. They also make beer with it although this is not much promoted in the spa. The main indoor swimming pool has been changed since our last visit. From what I remember it is now a little smaller but there is no extra charge to use the connected smaller one from which you can pass to the outside area. It was open until 9pm rather than 11pm as previously but that is still a good offer by the standards of many establishements There is an outdoor pool which was not open during our visit in May. I believe it is due to be reopened for the summer next month. We enjoyed the Finnish sauna and salt room. The food was outstanding. All meals are self-service buffets and there was a wide selection of dishes. They were almost all local Serbian fare, the sort of dishes that Serbs would find very familiar, though to a British visitor they were quite exotic. The kajmak at breakfast was particularly good. There was a dish of fried eggs that were cold and had been on display for some time but perhaps that is how the Serbs like them. Much more to my liking were the omelettes that were made to order. The coffee from a machine was not very good even though much better coffee was available for an extra charge at the cafes around the hotel. This seems to be a typical arrangement in Serbian hotels. Lunch and dinner had a wide range of meat, vegetable and salad dishes. It was always tempting to try a little of another dish. This is not the type of spa to go to is you want to lose weight! Many people go to Prolom Banja for medical treatment We were there purely for a holiday but I had my first ever massage there. Thank you Slaviša! There are very few visitors from outside and it seems that few of the staff speak English but they are welcoming and appear to take pride in their work. We would recommend a visit! Prolom Banja is located in the mountains of south-eastern Serbia. The area is full of birdsong and wild flowers, There are some pleasant walks from the hotel. A little further afield is the remarkable Đavolja Varoš with its unusual geological formations and which is wort
