First of all I admit I have never stayed here but have stayed for one night in Princetown at a proper B&B who really did cater for walkers and they provided a proper breakfast. I saw the Railway on Channel 4's programme and going by what was shown, as a tired walker having just trudged across Dartmoor there is no way I would want to somehow acquire my breakfast ingredients on the way in preparation for the following day. To call it a Ramblers rest is rather misleading. However as a base for several days walking it would be most suitable.

Great break at the Ramblers Rest. Trevor and Nikki were incredibly accommodating and welcoming and the accommodation was clean, well equipped and spacious. We used the outdoor kitchen which was fun, and location is perfect for surrounding the moors on your doorstep. Highly recommend.

Me and my partner had a lovely time on Dartmoor and the stay at the Ramblers was fantastic. Niki the owner was very very friendly and also made sure we were ok. I would highly recommend the accommodation. Very clean , good size room and places to eat also in the area. Niki was always available if required. Would 100% return. 👍🏾

I was made very welcome after being stranded in the snow. The rooms are fantastic, with everything you need: Lovely and warm Really comfortable bed Lots of room to relax Facilities to make tea/coffee etc Well thought out bathroom with a superb shower as well. Nothing was too much trouble for the owners.

Great few days away - Right in the middle of a Red weather warning. Very accommodating went above and beyond in a storm and power cut. Making sure we were as comfortable as we could be . Pizza oven to cook on if we needed Room great , comfy bed, warm and cosy. Sadly didn’t get to use the hot tub due to the weather All amenities you need for a few days of walking and relaxation - We took our own bottles of wine and treats as it was my husband birthday. And a few things for breakfast. There is a Little basic shop within Ramblers Rest . Or several cafes if you want to treat yourself And a couple of pubs , a connivence store all within walking distance One negative the fridge in our room noisey

The accommodation was superb stayed here a number of times and will continue to do so Ideal base for a hiking moorland holiday. Would recommend to anyone wishing to visit Dartmoor suitable for families couples or groups of friends. Terry and Nikki the Ramblers Rest hosts are very friendly and helpful, making everyone feel welcome.

Extremely comfortable beds, well thought out facilities and very friendly hosts. My friends and I always have a good time when we visit and it is the perfect place to rest and relax after enjoying big days out on the moor. We are repeat customers and will be back next October, if not before.

This is a great place to stay in the middle of Dartmoor. On the end of the main street with the local food and drink offerings just a few steps away. The room was great. Comfortable bed and kettle and coffee machine. Th enormous hot tub is amazing, and we made use of it in the evening, looking for stars between the clouds. We would definitely stya there agin.

Lovely clean room with comfortable bed & excellent facilities, all in a perfect location central to Dartmoor National Park. Very friendly & helpful hosts make the Ramblers Rest one of my favourite destinations for a short break. I’ll definitely be booking another stay next year & wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to friends & colleagues.
