Garden Court Hatfield

Our rate included breakfast and I requested a Halal breakfast on my booking. When we checked in I asked your front office agent will we get halal breakfast? and she just said "the chef will prepare it for you". I left it that, thinking all is well and we would get a nice breakfast on Sunday morning. Sunday morning we head down to breakfast just after 9am... There were quite a bit of guests and the restaurant was busy. I managed to flag down a restaurant employee wearing a royal blue uniform and asked about our halal breakfast... she was abrupt in her response with "the chef will prepare it for you". I waited around as she carried on and she could see I was a bit confused and unhappy. She came back and said I will go check with the chef and then turned around and said " the chef is busy there, but I will check with him". I said no problem, we are sitting outside, will you come let me know what's happening? She said yes... we waited outside at a table (all the other tables inside were FULL). Needless to say we waited for more than half an hour with nobody coming to check or give us feedback and then had to leave as we were by now already late for a conference we were attending in Pretoria. You guys clearly don't have a policy of inclusivity in trying to accommodate guests from other religions. As a hotel being part of Southern Sun it's disgusting that more effort was not made to ensure our request was met or tell us you cannot accommodate our request. All we were told is "The Chef will prepare it for you". At this point I don't think Garden Court Hatfield even knows what Halal means or that the Food and Beverage department even cares! We paid R1745 for the night for no breakfast... not even a slice of toast was offered! we also had to still pay tourism levy and parking fee... a complete rip off. And yes, I would have booked room only if your online site had that option.

THE HOSPITALITY, SERVICE AND FRIENDLINESS SHOWN TO TEAM GHANA WAS SUPERB. THE AMBIANCE WAS GREAT AND THE PROFESSIONALISM OF THE STAFF WAS VERY NOTABLE. IT WAS A JOY TO STAY IN THE HOTEL FOR THE DURATION OF THE TOURNAMENT.

Staying here with our 1st team hockey boys for a tournament . What a pleasure ! All the staff treated us like royalty . Smiles are all around , and they really care if you enjoy your stay . Wonderful , clean and modern rooms . Best shower i had in a hotel for a long time . Breakfast and dinner was excellent and tasty everyday ! Nothing was to much trouble . Thank you for our stay and to all the staff . You will see us again ! Your friends from : Louis Trichardt Highschool
