Hotel ARÉNA

Obyčejný hotel, ale s velmi dobrou lokací a time dostupnosti k O2 universum a O2 Aréně . Velká Škoda je, ze nenabízí snídaně ani restauraci ./ An ordinary hotel, but with a very good location and time of accessibility to O2 universum and O2 Arena. It's a big shame that they don't offer breakfast or a restaurant.

My husband and I chose to stay at this hotel as it was in a location close to where we needed to be during our stay. We will start with the pros: - The room was always very clean, as were all other areas of the hotels. Even on the days where we felt cleaning wasn’t necessary, we were still offered clean towels and toilet roll. - the bathroom was lovely and the shower very powerful. - Double bedroom was spacious. - mini bar was stocked in the room and although we didn’t use any of it, the price was ok (cheaper for the things in the supermarket but that’s always the case in hotels) - there was an outdoor area on floor 1 to sit out. - We had a fan provided in our room. Now for what would have made our stay better: - Air con/more than one fan. Our room was very warm especially on days the weather was over 34 degrees. We didn’t feel much respite from outside. - The bed was a solid base, which was uncomfortable, and the pillows were really strange. One big and one small per person. The big pillow felt as though it was half empty and though the smaller pillow was better, it was tiny so not much benefit. Other notes: There are lots of stairs to get up to your room. Though there was an elevator, we stayed on floor 4 and established that pressing 4 on the lift meant you still had stairs to walk up. This is not a big deal daily, but with heavy suitcases, we found it better to go up to floor 5 and walk down a few steps to floor 4 instead. This is a very basic hotel with basic amenities - you definitely get what you pay for.

Pros: The room and entire place was kept clean. The location was good as it was only a few minutes from the yellow metro line called B which takes you to the center of Prague in 20 minutes or so and close to the airport. The staff was very nice. The internet speed was ok. A shopping mall with a grocery store is nearby. Cons: The room was very small. I wish they were more knowledgeable about the neighbourhood and Prague as a whole. I asked some questions, but all I got from them was a general information I could easily find on the internet. It's nice there was a safe inside the room, but it'd have been better if we had a securer, modern lock on the door.

Very basic hotel. Old fashioned regular keys. Doors will be locked at night. There is an escalator, but you still need to carry your luggage up and down quite a few stairs. Old and worn furniture. Mattress way too soft. Bathroom with shower and hair dryer, but a bit gloomy. You get a piece of soap, some shampoo and lotion. Lights in the bedroom were a little brighter. TV (I did not check if it worked). Mini bar equipped with beer, sparkling wine and soft drinks. Tea bags and coffee in the room, but you have to take them to a mini kitchen outside the room to actually make tea. Staff were super friendly and helpful. They speak very good English. Will help you with just about any questions. If you need to deposit your baggage they will just keep it at the reception (no fee). Rooms very very clean, absolutely spotless. You can tell they really put an effort into running a good hotel even though every piece of equipment is old and outdated. Considering the unbelievably low price this is a great place to stay if you just need a place to sleep and take a shower.
