C’est super on est arrivé tard le soir le parking n’est pas inclus on a pas pu profiter du spa ni de la piscine car c’était le checkout et il voulait pas nous donner accès même si on est arrivé vers 4 h du matin .. et parti à midi

Stayed here for a night on the journey north in the fascinating city of Dax. The building was rebuild in art deco style in 1929 and is a beautiful example. Our bedroom was very spacious with a large entrance hall and bathroom. The bed was very comfortable and the view excellent. An evening drink on the terrace was most relaxing. We kept expecting Hercule Poirot to come out of a corner. Well worth the trip.

We spent one night here, the location of the hotel was perfect, close to the city centre and attractions, the room was spacious, clean and well-maintained, the breakfast was delicious and had a great variety of options. We had an enjoyable dinner with the best food and service yet. Definitely recommend this hotel,

Excellent team food & beverage, reception amazing, the SPA is 7 stars, Chef Thomas is really creative and has a very good team with him. I stayed there for a week and we were 43 persons so not really easy to handle. great experience overall. Pascal M.

Location is good for the old town, the market, riverbank and the bull ring if you are into that. It's a hot walk from the railway station and taxis seem impossible to find at either end. Hotel was unable to find taxis too, but we discovered the free bus for the return trip which was ideal. The hotel has a very large atrium which contains reception, a bar, grand staircase and adjoins the terrace. It creates a slightly soulless atmosphere, which is not improved by an awkward welcome at reception. The dining room looked too traditional and stuffy for us, so we used the plentiful cafés and bistros for food. Room was OK, although the aircon was noisy. Large windows were fine until early morning when road sweepers etc. The bathroom was good with plenty of hot water, which given the nature of Dax is not a surprise. Having been bombarded with advance requests and reminders to book the spa we were a bit surprised not to see its reception manned or to see any information in the room. We could easily have been persuaded to chill and relax for half a day, Maybe another time. Luggage storage was a pain. We happily followed the member of staff to store our bags for the morning, but then had to fight through all the other bags to retrieve them. This is also a hotel with a lot of steps, there is a steepish slope, but it's not accessible for anyone with mobility issues. Overall, it felt like it needed a general manager with personality and energy to make it all click, focus on its guests and really hum. Shame really.

Absolutely fabulous hotel, staff, accommodation, spa and most of all the restaurant food and service was amazing. The bed and bedding were fantastic. The restaurant food was delicious, we had three great evenings dining in the restaurant, the service, especially by Ash Ven was first rate, delicious wines and food that the chef should be extremely proud of.
