Blue Waters

Absolutely stunning, private, peaceful and relaxing. Our whole stay at Blue Water was perfect, the cabanas are cute, clean and spacious for couples. We couldn’t fault anything. We stayed for my 40th birthday and the team decorated our room, what a lovely surprise on entry. Although there is no air conditioning, the fans in the room are sufficient and the cabanas are designed well with openings for a breeze. Rinos is amazing, he was so attentive and looked after all of our needs. He’s really friendly, a pleasure to meet and an excellent chef. Sudha and Dinosan are both phenomenal, they make sure the whole area around the cabanas are pristine, they take so much pride and leave patterns in the sand for guests. There is a good variety of food, the fresh juices are so tasty. We had breakfast and dinner most days and Rinos catered for our tastes. The beach is private and only a few steps away, most days we were the only ones there, it is paradise. At night we fell asleep to the sound of the waves. Had a great and very relaxing week here. The cabanas are comfortable and stylish, all with great sea views. The beach is stunning and empty. Niaz and his team were very attentive and did everything to make us feel welcome. The grounds are constantly maintained and kept immaculate. The small restaurant served up great food, and always with a smile. Special mention to Rinos the chef and Bari here for their good service and friendly manner, the same goes for the rest of the staff. This is a place to come and relax, away from the hustle and bustle of Arugam Bay. Highly recommended.

We were 3 adults and 2 kids (3 and 5) and booked 2 cabanas. We purposely selected a hotel away from the town and it was the best decision. It’s just paradise there. Wooden cabanas with a little terrace in front of them and the whole beach to ourselves. Not a single soul most of the time. The water is a little too rough for swimming but a quick deep or a long walk is an absolute must. Rooms have a safe, towels, little fridge and fan. There is a little cafe within the hotel too where you can have a quick bite or a drink. Tuk Tuk drive to the town takes about 15 min and there you can find plenty of restaurants. Keep in mind not all of them survived Covid (sad) so aim for the ones that have this year reviews.

7 of us booked 5 Cabanas for a 3 night stay at the end of December. The description as per the web site did not lie. There were several points which made it so memorable. 1. The location - a near pristine beach with waves that could lull you to sleep 2. The cool verandas, with comfy cane chairs for reading, snoozing, gazing into the bay. 3. Nature - loads of bird life, fully appreciated if you were a nature lover 4. The hospitality - a home away from home where Niaz, Nasir and Kiyaz ensured that your stay was comfortable and simple good food. 5. Finally the eco friendly Cabanas which was very well maintained in the current circumstances. Thank you to Niaz and team

We stayed for couple of nights as a family of four. Fantastic location right on the beach. Early morning sunrise is priceless to watch. Cabanas are clean and well maintained. Food was great. Niaz and his team are always happy to help. Hotel can organise jeep safaris to Kumana national park and Lagoon boat safaris.

I spent 3 nights with family and close relatives at Blue Waters Arugam Bay. We discovered it by chance whilst looking for a hotel in the bay area. It offered all the ingredients of a relaxing holiday, delicious food and friendly staff. It was like home away from home and a change from the larger more impersonal hotels. The ocean facing, cabana style rooms were excellently structured, cool, spacious and clean. The beach was pristine and quiet, along which we took long walks undisturbed except for the sound of birds and the waves. Niyaz and his team were excellent hosts, and special mention should be made to Kiyaz and Nazir who provided a variety of tasty meals with the freshest of locally sourced produce. The seafood was amazing as was the fruit which was so juicy! Nothing was too much for them and we were sorry to leave this little gem that offered a different holiday experience and hope to revisit in the future. Good luck Niyaz, we wish you well.

Avis partagé sur cet hôtel : il est très bien situé, avec un accès direct sur la plage, peu fréquentée. Les extérieurs sont bien entretenus, le jardin est balayé et arrosé chaque jour, les transats privatifs sont disposés sous les arbres. Chaque chambre bénéficie d'une terrasse agrémentée de fauteuils en osier et d'un ventilateur, c'est là que nous avons passé le plus de temps. La partie chambre est assez sombre - les deux lampes de chevet ne fonctionnant pas. Pas de climatisation mais le ventilateur au plafond rafraichit bien. En revanche, la salle de bains n'invite guère à s'y prélasser. Toute la salle de bains est la douche : vous devez traverser la pièce (mouillée si vous avez pris une douche) pour aller sur les toilettes au fond. L'évier dans le coin est sale, le verre à dents dans le même état, on ne peut rien déposer nulle part, il n'y a aucun meuble à part la tablette au-dessus de l'évier. Le ménage n'a pas été fait dans notre chambre durant les deux jours passés dans cet hôtel. Mais c'est encore le restaurant qui réserve le plus de surprises : pas de set de table ou de nappe, les assiettes sont amenées avec vos couverts posés dessus, parfois enroulés d'une serviette en papier, mais j'ai reçu des spaghettis avec une simple fourchette posée dessus... On m'a repris une assiette qui ne m'était pas destinée pour la donner à la table d'à côté alors que j'avais déjà trempé mon couteau dans le sauce pour la goûter (j'ai cru que c'était une mise en bouche offerte). En résumé donc, lieu agréable et bien situé mais le service est vraiment à revoir.

Es sind sehr saubere, schöne und liebevoll gestaltete Bungalows in einer sehr gepflegten und ruhig gelegenen Anlage. Der Ausblick auf das Meer ist unschlagbar und lädt zum Erholen und Entspannen ein. Der Eigentümer und sein Team sind sehr freundlich, hilfsbereit und herzlich. Sie erfüllen einem jeden Wunsch und sorgen so für einen unvergesslichen Aufenthalt. Wir hatten 4 wunderschöne und erholsame Tage in einem Eco Cabana mit Doppelbett und empfehlen es sofort weiter. Danke für alles!
