Premier Inn Portsmouth North Harbour

Our initial ferry crossing was cancelled as there was a storm. We rebooked, with 3 days notice, and were told we had to pay an extra £10 on arrival, ie total of £57, despite the internet price for the rearranged date being cheaper. Arrived 8.50pm, two hotels together so confusing. Despite the Beefeater internet page stays open until 10.30pm, it shut at 9pm for food and 9.30pm in the bar. We left without food or drink and wouldnt give them money for breakfast. The room was cold. Wished we had travelled further after disembarking the ferry to get better hotel, cheaper with facilities for food and drink. We would suggest you do not book this hotel if you arriving on a 8pm arrival in Portsmouth Harbour.

The bed was ok pillows ok coffee and tea ok Only thing that was a small problem was no plug sockets at the bed side As I have sleep apnea but reception lent me a extension cord so I could plug In my machine the breakfast was excellent and one evening we had a meal There were so much to choose from it took us a while to pick from the menu

I stayed here very recently when it was particularly cold weather. The room was freezing and even leaving the heating on all night it was only just nice. I ate at the beefeater next door which was mediocre at best. I had the steak with peppercorn sauce but the sauce had split and the steak was very fatty (which I didn’t expect for £20+). The worst thing about the hotel is the internet. I struggled to get any websites to load up on the free Wi-Fi and was definitely not paying the £5 to get a faster Wi-Fi service….this should be a basic facility and needs sorting out. Hotel staff are nice and friendly - very accommodating This is definitely a tired establishment, the premier inn 200 yards away (Solent) looks much better but these issues may apply to that one I cannot comment.
