Village Club Domaine de l'Espagnac

This is the second time we have returned to this holiday site. Overall we had a really good time especially the children who loved the pools and the slides! The accomadation is of a very high standard. We stayed in a premium cottage Taos which was modern, very clean and have lots of clever storage. All of the pool areas are very clean and well maintained. There is a reasonable choice of restaurants (grill, pizza, burger and Vietnamese as well as sweet shops and an onsite shop). However there were a few things that disappointed me. Firstly the noise in the evening. Whilst I understand this site is sandaya ‘club’ rather than ‘chill’, the noise in the evening can be excessive from the entertainment. Last year I put this down to our choice of accommodation which was directly behind the entertainment but this year we were much further away. With one night going on to 12.30am with thumping club music, it does not make for a relaxing stay. We also found our gas plancha grill not to be working and on another day lack of cold water and inability to light the cooker. It turned out that this was due to the need to replace the gas canister. The maintenance man came very quickly to resolve. However we had no idea on both occasions the reason why we had a problem and it’s not a great experience on holiday when you are in the middle of preparing a meal or have a shower and you have no idea why things are not working, wasting time trying to make something work which of course couldn’t had we known the actual reason. I feel this could have been pointed out upfront. Other main disappointment was that we were under the understanding that cleaning was part of the premium accommodation included in cost but it turned out that this does not include kitchen (kitchen and fridge had to be cleaned) and all the beds needed to be stripped before departure. Animation and kids disco was good but quality seemed to be changeable from night to night. Great padel facilities. Overall enjoyed our stay but room for improvement

As if they review bombed themselves with good reviews. We came in the evening and we where tired. When we came in there was a platter with a box with toilet paper and some cleaning supplies. When we went to sleep we found out that you have to buy your linnen separately just like a lot of other stuff. It's like all they want is your money. You have to buy wifi seperatly but there is a small free wifi zone just so they can say that they have free wifi. The food here is really expensive. I went to an 2 star hotel the day before and it was way better, it had free wifi, free linnens en did I say you also don't get any towels? This place is only out for your money AVOID THIS PLACE.

We stayed here following a recommendation from a friend who spoke highly about the facilities and the evening entertainment. We stayed in our motorhome opposed to the chalets and the pitch was a decent size and the individual bathroom and washing up facilities specific to you were really helpful. Access from the camping site to the main facilities was just a 2 minute walk. The beach/lagoon and pool areas are the main attraction at this site, in particularly the lagoon which is really picturesque. Where this site let's itself down is the service from staff. I read several reviews that their English wasn't great and thought "why should it be, I am in France after all?!" Whenever we go overseas we always try to make an effort to converse in the native language and 99% of the time there is a level of respect between everyone for the efforts made and we get there!.... Not here...... The staff at all of the food outlets have little or no time for those that don't speak French. They are rude, arrogant and despite you paying prices more akin to a 5* resort in Dubai, they make even asking for a napkin a massive chore, flailing their arms and shrugging their shoulders at the mere request. In particular the gentleman at the bakery seems insistent on belittling those that don't speak French, even when my wife was trying to order 4 items with the equivalent cost to a small family car, He seemed insistent on making an example of her in front of the queue to the point she was visably upset. In summary, the good facilities are completely overshadowed by rude and arrogant staff with little or no ability to offer any form of customer service. I only good experience was at the check in at the very beginning of the holiday. Combine this with massively overinflated prices (which we were willing to overlook intially) I would not recommend this site. Mange tut Rodney, Mange Tut.

The worst ever experience with a holiday company. We have been given 3rd world accommodation, dangerous equipment, faulty walk ways, smelly bed linen(x2) and been dealt with such hostility it’s frightening. €5000 spent on complete dump

Facilities and site excellent. Ibiza style parties drowning out our radio on our pitch not so good, Even though we are a few hundred meters away from the entertainment, the bass is shaking the ground, Our last Sandaya experience was excellent, but this is hell. If we could leave early, we would.

Just returned from 2 weeks holiday with my wife and kids (9 & 11) on the campsite and had a wonderful time. The several pools available provided a good balance for what individuals require. Adults tend to enjoy the deeper of the two "olympic" pools whereas kids enjoy the Havana pools, slides and lagoon. Worth noting that no inflatables are permitted in any pool and is strictly policed by lifeguards. Balls and sinkers appear to be fine apart from if a swimming session is on in olympic pool. We were camping on a premier pitch which was quite tight for our family tent (8m long) and didn't allow us to put up an awning to provide well needed shade. Gravel has been placed around the sanitary blocks on the pitches which has migrated onto the actual pitches making it uncomfortable under foot in a tent and actually punctured the groundsheet of our friends on an adjacent pitch. The pitches are probably more suitable for caravans than tents or require a good stone pick prior to pitching. Not sure how feasible this is though as some stones are bedded in. Despite the small issues with the pitch we still had a great stay. Several restaurants on site provide variety for adults and the option of takeaways from sushi bar, pizzas and also full cooked chickens provide options for food. Kids menu however is generally the same in most restaurants (4-5 options). Staff are generally very friendly and happy to help and although sometimes staff don't speak perfect English they are patient enough to work through with us when our French didn't make muster. We only had one experience in the grill restaurant where staff appeared disinterested and unhappy to serve, perhaps they were just having a bad day. Lots of activities going on around the campsite during the day should you wish to get involved. Entertainment on site on evenings was good, kids particularly enjoyed magic show although we did struggle to enjoy the clubbing night that went on until the early hours (We were a reasonable distance from the stage, I feel for those who were closer). Site has lots to offer with trampolines, ping pong, petanque areas, bike hire (not sure has the best cycle links around the campsite though but didn't explore in depth) skate park, tennis courts, volleyball etc. Site ideally located for visiting wider areas such as Narbonne, Beziers, Carcassonne, Montpellier (Has a free zoo), also possible to drive into Spain (We visited Gironde) which kids thought was an amazing adventure.
