Utter Disappointment – A Waste of Time and Money I expected a relaxing all-inclusive holiday at this hotel. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a frustrating and disappointing experience I wouldn’t recommend to anyone. Check-in and Check-out: Although I received my room before the official 4:00 PM check-in time, I wasn’t given the all-inclusive wristband until exactly 4:00 PM – no access to food or drinks (not even water) before that. On the day of departure, wristbands are removed at 11:00 AM, so if your flight is later, you’ll have to pay for everything yourself. The hotel also charges a €150 deposit, which was only refunded two days after I returned home. Rooms: Room quality is a gamble – you might get a decent apartment with a balcony (as I did), but you could just as easily end up in a tiny attic room with a small window. No kettle, no dish soap (available at reception for €5), no pool towels. Virtually no toiletries – just a cheap 2-in-1 shower gel/shampoo I didn’t dare use. The bathroom had a tub with a sticky shower curtain that clings to your body. Cleaning and towel replacement only every other day. Food: The food was simply terrible. Breakfasts were poor – vegetables looked like they’d been chopped with an axe, scrambled eggs were mushy, and the toaster barely worked. Lunches and dinners were flavorless; the meat was often undercooked, and the pasta was always overcooked. Themed dinners were a joke: Mexican night – not a single dish tasted remotely Mexican. Italian night – the lasagna turned into a soupy mess, ravioli stuck together in a lump, and tiramisu melted into a puddle within 15 minutes. Portuguese night – grilled food was prepared an hour before dinner, stored in the kitchen, and then served later. The taste? Awful. Drinks and bar: The coffee from the machine was undrinkable, the cups were dirty, and the two daily alcoholic cocktails were pre-mixed in large plastic jugs and often watered down with tap water. If you want a proper drink, you’ll have to pay €8.50. Alcohol is supposedly served until 11:00 PM, but by 10:50 PM, staff stop serving. Facilities and service: The bar is located inside the dining hall – if you’re at the pool and want a drink, you need to dry off and get dressed first. Staff were gloomy. There were no ashtrays – guests were given bowls that were later used to serve fruit. Sun loungers were dirty and often covered in bird droppings, with no cleaning. The pool was full of leaves, and the pool bar was closed. Entertainment was dull, entirely in French, and uninspired. No daytime activities whatsoever. The average guest age was 60+, so younger travelers will be bored out of their minds. Pros? Clean room, vanity table, bidet, large mirror, and spacious wardrobes – but these few positives don’t make up for the many downsides. Conclusion: I don’t recommend this hotel. It’s not worth your time or money. There are definitely better options in the area that actually respect their guests.
