Plas Tan-Yr-Allt Historic Country House & Estate

An absolutely stunning house surrounded by nature with a wonderful welcome from Mark and Howard. The information buttons placed around the house gave a brilliant insight into the history of the house and the surrounding areas. Our room was stunning! Clean, quiet and extremely comfortable! My gluten allergy was very well catered for and the breakfast was delicious. We will definitely be back!

My mother’s and my stay at Plas Tan-Yr-Allt was more perfect than I could have possibly imagined. The time and care that Mark and Howard have taken to make the house an authentic trip back in time was simply wonderful— their attention to detail is really quite something. Through the pictures and photos on the wall, the recordings, the information in the bedrooms, and the carefully chosen furnishings, you truly discover the rich history of the house. Mark and Howard were the most thoughtful hosts. On arriving, they served us cream tea with blankets for our knees, allowing us to enjoy the most wonderful view across the valley in complete comfort. The gardens were beautiful and a joy to explore. Each of the three bedrooms, very different in their historic decor, was sumptuous with the most wonderfully comfortable beds and luxurious bedding —I genuinely didn’t want to leave! Mark was the perfect host, providing everything we needed to visit local attractions and even rang ahead and booked for us! (Do go to the slate mines and buy their delicious cheese!) The individually tailored breakfasts were absolutely outstanding; beautifully presented, locally sourced, and cooked and prepared to perfection. Every morning felt like a special occasion, with a menu that reflected both quality and care. It was the perfect start to each day. My mother and I toured all over Wales, staying in hotels and BnBs and this bed and breakfast was by far our favourite. It sounds like Mark and Howard paid us to write this review, but we truly loved staying there and had an unforgettable time! Apart from staying in a beautiful house, the kindness shown to us was second to none and I would wholly recommend staying here if you ever have the chance.

A quietly hidden treasure. Had the most wonderful stay at Plas. Mark was the most wonderful and welcoming host (unfortunately didn't get to meet Howard). Breakfasts were a joy and the courtesy and flexibility in attending to needs was very much appreciated. The whole setting near Tremadog was just lovely. The garden at Plas was manicured! The whole house, decor and feel of the place was completely up our street. loved it.

What a lovely place, the house itself is lovely, furnished in period with outstanding taste and style. Breathtaking views and hospitality of the highest level. Thanks Mark for a truly memorable couple of days, Christine and I were delighted and you made her birthday a special experience.

A fabulous luxury B&B in the heart of Tremadog. Ideal location for exploring the sights of North Wales and within easy access of Snowdonia National Park, Barmouth and Portmeirion etc. Beautiful location, exquisite house and sumptuous rooms resulting in a truly opulent stay. Breakfast of the highest quality and cooked to perfection. Mark and Howard exceptional hosts with the perfect amount of warmth and sincerity. Would absolutely recommend.

We were very pleased with our stay at this B&B. Mark was an amazing, kind and gracious host (we didn’t meet Howard). The decor in the common areas was perfect for the property. The room (Shelly’s) was lovely. The breakfast options were excellent. And we liked the location, which was close to a range of Snowdonia attractions, and the nearby town beyond Tremadoc had good stores for food and walking supplies. A somewhat limited range of good restaurants nearby, but we were given a good list of the best places. So all told, we were delighted with our time there, and will absolutely return when we next visit Snowdonia.
