The Estuary Hotel & Spa

This property is located in a stunning location. Which makes its current condition all the sadder. Clearly, this once was a prime hotel. However, it has not been maintained or updated. The rooms are very average and dated. And the staff are clearly unhappy. They make it clear they would prefer to be elsewhere. Where almost everyone we encountered in South Africa were very friendly, the staff at the Estuary were the exception. With no smiles and no welcoming spirit. Further, the restaurant is in lousy condition with below average food and poor service. All in all, a sad place. We were pleased to move on after one night there.

As mentioned. For me it was the noise at night and also the issue of WiFi and smart tvs if you can please improve. Talk to your guests advise them to ensure there are people in other rooms and book these hotels to rest but unfortunately this time was different we couldn’t rest. 2nd day was better since I reported the matter.

We enjoyed a wonderful 1 night break away, views are beautiful, staff friendly and food delicious. We will definitely be back again soon.

Personalized welcome gift (consider offering a small welcome gift, like local treat or branded item to make guests feel valued. Staff on arrival and during the stay they must also be able to familiarize the guest by greeting them with their names or last name to make them feel more special .

Old Constantia style architecture, Beautiful, well-maintained territory with amazing view. very peaceful and quiet surrounding. It is 3-star hotel, so expect 3-star experience at its GOOD standard. Family room is spacious. Nice laminate floor, Bathroom is spacious with the bath and large shower cabin. Nearly tiled, but old( two taps) plumbing and bath. Towerls are thin and rough. Might need to change. Beds are confortable and linned is good. I would decorate rooms a bit-empty walls. Internet, WIFI is not existing as in the room as on the territory. Telephone reception not everywhere either.. The restaurant: old days tiny, in diameter, plates (for starters and for the main course), black table cloth, black nupkins and black staff uniforms in the rainy days make you beleive that you are at the funiral parlor... The menu items ,as well as the kitchen execution of it, is probably well recieved by the targeted audience.It was not our cup of tea though... I saw other travellers reviews and the owner's reply. I agree with the owner and wish the restaurant and the hotel well. We will be comming back if will need to stay in the area! The business in the region is tough and clientelle also has changes, so the hospitality industry had to ajust! Special thank you to the hotel and restaurant staff! The venue is excellent for a quite getaway. Beach is door step away The beach itself is very clean and locked in The settings and surroundings especially the view of the estuary is on point The Buffet Breakfast was spot on. Meals were great overall. Service overall is reccomend able
