We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Marmalade Motel. It is a perfect stopping place to explore the numerous beaches on the Eastern Shore. Be sure to take advantage of their picnic, breakfast or charcuterie offerings! Would definitely recommend.

We visited the Eastern shores last week on business trip and a little vacation at the same time. We enjoyed our 4 nights stay and also made some amazing discoveries. We had breakfasts in bed which was great since there are no restaurants in an immediate vicinity. We drove as far as Torbay and visited Sherbrooke village which is a must. The motel was very clean and very welcoming and had the occasion to talk to the owner Sheril on a few occasions which was great. The place was also very quiet

This motel is a little gem. Nice rooms (comfy bed) with attention to the little things and a beautiful view. Lovely seating in the back of the motel across from the water with lots of seating, a fire pit and a pizza oven. The owners go way above and beyond!

This room was clean and nicely decorated. The view was the best we had during our nine days of travel. But the communication with the nonexistent front desk (contactless entry) was most frustrating. The room had no toilet paper and no shower gel. When I sent an email to the contact listed, I received an auto-reply that she was unavailable for the next 60 days. When we checked out, I sent an email (in response to their email asking for “anything we could do to improve the guest experience”) suggesting that they contact their guests 30-45 minutes after they enter their room, to inquire if everything was acceptable in the room. They responded with a most condescending message, suggesting there were multiple ways for me to contact them. The implication is that I am responsible for making sure their room is properly cleaned and stocked, including toilet paper and shower gel?

Our room was VERY clean and quite cute. The location is rural but scenic and lovely and I would recommend this motel to family and friends in the future. We enjoyed our stay, but if I’m honest I expected the room to have A/C. My bad for not noticing it wasn’t. The room was quite warm when we arrived….and I should mention our check-in was contactless…no staff on site at 5:30 p.m. We opened up the windows and there was a cooling breeze however it got very warm again overnight as I wasn’t comfortable leaving windows open all night. Also the lack of a microwave in the room was somewhat inconvenient. You’re forced to eat in a restaurant in Sheet Harbour as there’s no way to reheat takeout or leftovers.

Modern, fun and spotlessly clean room (Under the Sun), bathroom has tub and toiletries - a box of tissues would be useful. Contactless entry and exit which worked very well. Balcony facing the water was a good place to sit and take in the views. Restaurants are 10 minutes drive away as is Marmalade Cafe where we had breakfast. Would recommend.

As a former award winning innkeeper I know a thing or two about hospitality and how so many folks fail on a few points. If I was to design a motel for the 21st century, this would be it. The Marmalade Motel have got it all sorted. Very good bed, terrific pillows, spotlessly clean, quiet location, good shower, fridge and excellent media access. Our room design and paint scheme (Under the Sun) was simple but very clever. Excellent communication from Cheryl regarding local food allowed us to bring a picnic. We sat on the deck as the sun set and consumed a bottle of chilled wine. All this helped the evenings 'shenanigans'! My only minor question is why the fridge in the room was placed where it was as it really didn't help the flow of the room. Why it wasn't placed in the corner bemused me...and the only reason i could fathom out was that the power point was in the wrong place. The place is in the middle of nowhere so if you want nightlife don't come. Do come if you want to enjoy a small slice of wonderful Nova Scotia as it should be enjoyed.

We loved our 'Flamingo Room'. Lovely view of the bay with a deck to sit out on. Unfortunately our weather did not co-operate for us to take advantage of this. Very, very clean and comfortable. Beds were great! Enjoyed the extra breakfast delivered to our door! Everything was delicious and we certainly did not go hungry. Fresh fruit, yogurt, baked goods, cheese and, of course, piping hot coffee! Wonderful. My only complaint would be the curtains were not black out so the room was very bright in the morning. Some people would have no problem with this, of course. Overall, wonderful stay and would recommend!!

A true gem on the eastern shore...perfect place for a stopover or destination. We stayed in unit #1, Under the Sun...nicely appointed with comfortable king-size bed, coffee maker, fridge etc. The view off our deck at the rear was amazing. Will definitely be returning.
