Premier Inn Cwmbran

What a great base for a weekend or few days away in Cardiff. I don't think we have ever known such friendly staff at a Premier Inn (and we have stayed at a few). Do not be put off by the exterior, possibly looking a little tired. Inside, it is just fine and everything you need it to be. We had Sunday lunch and breakfast at the adjoining Ashbridge Inn and they were good. The train station is a 20 min walk from the hotel. The Welsh Transport lay on extra trains for special events in Cardiff, so you can get back to Cwmbran late at night.

Excellent staff especially Amy and Courtney so helpful polite and well presented. Lovely people great food and a comfy bed what more could you want.

Good location, great "Table Table" restaurant next door for breakfast & meals which was really good, staff lovely & very approachable & helpful, the hotel probably needs a refresh at some point but all clean & tidy. Plenty of parking & only 20 minutes in the car from the ICC in Newport. But the room was so hot it was quite uncomfortable overnight, the air-con could not be set below 19C which is pretty hot & even talking to reception they advised it could not be turned down below that temperature, also no fans available either. Surely an air-con system should be able to reduce a room temperature to below 19C. Because of the hot room my travel companion & I had pretty poor sleep on both nights of our stay. Sort it out please.

5 minute drive to the town centre lovely pub next door where the food is lovely! The rooms are clean and spacious! The staff are really friendly and helpful! I am staying here on business in a long way from Home and the lovely hotel staff offered to wash my work uniform. highly recommend this place whether it’s for business or pleasure

Hotel looks a bit old and the tv in the room was disappointing but the staff were lovely. The restaurant again looked a bit dull food was slightly over priced in my opinion but was okay, again the staff were lovely. It is ideal for getting to newport and cardiff

This has always been our “Go to” hotel when visiting family in Wales,but we felt disappointed after this visit. It’s not so much “Premier” as “Standard” ! The building and decor are looking very tired and the room was missing some of the little touches we have experienced previously, such as beakers in the bathroom. We didn’t see any evidence of the “Guaranteed Good Night’s Sleep”, so wondered if they have cut back to keep prices competitive. I had booked two rooms and the family room hadn’t been prepared for my granddaughter, although the staff attended to it as soon as they were notified. On a positive note; The rooms were clean,staff were friendly and helpful and there was plenty of hot water for bathing or showering.
