We stayed at the hotel on the first floor room 103. At first we were worried that it was above reception so might be noisey but it was very quiet (although we do listen to a rain app) and we got very good sleep. The room was spacious and airy, the bed was comfortable. The hotel itself is beautiful and the staff are very friendly. The reason for a 4 star is because the food is not good - basing this on the breakfast and dinner buffet. One evening we sat for dinner but it felt like a school canteen. It was very noisey, no music, the chairs and furniture were not very nice and would make loud noises on the floor so we had to leave before ordering. But this was fine for us as there are lots of places in town to eat and drink. Would stay again, and just eat elsewhere as we had done.

Lovely friend staff but very disappointed meal , wine from list not available, soup cold , main course inedible - had to send back- slow cooked beef too tough to even cut. Did offer another meal but we declined. Other meal in party. Only mediocre

The hotel should be on your must stay list. The location can’t be beat. A very short walk to the town centre for shops and restaurants. Our room was huge and very well appointed. The amenities were upscale and smelled fantastic. Plenty of room for closet space and storage. A bar fridge came in handy too. The staff are wonderful especially the man who worked the restaurant in the evenings. Well done.

Arrived with a full sight seeing agenda as a family of four. Therefore only experienced the rooms and restaurants. The rooms were clean and equipped with aircondition and all necessities. The breakfast offerings were great - the service was not good.

Amazing hotel. Beautifully designed public spaces and bedroom. It is an iconic historic building. Unbeatable location. The staff especially the front of house are really great and I appreciated the same room allocated to us on a return visit.
