Ruins Chaaya is a hotel where you can spend your vacation in total freedom. Especially Buwanaka Athapattu and his team provided good service. Chef's recipes were also of high quality. It would be good if the hotel management would pay some attention to the maintenance of the hotel. Also, I believe that if attention is paid to a swimming pool, future hotel room bookings can certainly be increased.

Stayed there for three days. Would not recommend. GOOD: The had laundry service. Rooms are decent with a nice porch area with a view of the garden In a nice location AVERAGE: Club sandwich BAD: Breakfast except eggs were not fresh. One time I returned eggs because they didn’t bring the correct order but the replacement was really salty. Tuna salad is way below average. Cups were dirty Room service threw away the dry fruits I’d kept in my room. And generally not that well cleaned. Reception was unavailable after 9pm Refrigerator in room was broken. Person who came to check left saying he’d be back and never came back. They asked me during checkout to leave a good review and that their rating has been falling recently. I think just focusing on the quality of food and service can make a huge improvement to the place since it’s already nice in terms of room and location.

The rooms are so clean and tidy.The staff also helpful and freindly.very close to main ruins site.worth for the money stay in Polonnaruwa.The location was also very calm and beautiful.Highly recomanded for everyone.

While the staff seemed friendly and food portions somewhat ample the place had no wi fi and no tv. Also the food wasn t the best and we had no choice as we hapened to be the only guests. Altogether not a very positive experience.

Stayed a day for full board package. They doesn't provide so many facilities of which they advertise. Mainly, they didn't give Wifi facility. There was no BBQ facility as advertised. Talking about room features, TV didn't work. Room telephone didn't work either. There was no Iron, Refrigerator, Minibar nor coffee maker in the room as advertised. Not satisfied with food, too. We weren't given any opinion to choose a meal for lunch. Received rice & curry- (steamed white rice,curry chicken, beans & another curry or two). For dinner we were given only two options- a course (only one course was available) or a chicken mixed nasi goreng. Only two dessert options were available- vanilla ice cream or sliced papaya. We weren't given any chance to choose breakfast, too- received String hoppers & milk rice. Despite their failure to provide basic facilities, they didn't deduct a single rupee from the charge they told us when booking. If telling something positive, Staff was friendly & provided useful information about the area when asked. Rooms were clean. Overall, I'm disappointed with their service. They don't provide enough facilities for the amount they charge. Not recommending this place.
