Great location and service at this beautiful resort! We have much enjoyed the calm surroundings, the beautiful nature and animals around us, and the friendly service. The facilites are good in general, although a renovation for the gym and some of the villas is overdue. Also, be aware that the last 8 kms of road to the resort might take 30 minutes, as it is very poorly maintained. Overall, a great stay :-)

I’m at a loss for words to describe this place. It’s beyond beautiful. Ocean, mountain-side views, crisp breeze, clean tasty food, lovely people, it’s the most beautiful spot I’ve ever visited. The staff here was wonderful, took great care of our family, including my small daughter & son with special needs. I want to give a special shout-out to Narron for being our horseback & zip-line guide, being some attentive the kids’ needs/care. I also really loved Margarita, she was so chill & friendly. At the concierge desk, you couldn’t ask for better service from Joe, Joseph, Valeria, & Jorge. Felipe, Kervin, & Gerald kept us well-hydrated & fed. Don’t *think* about going here, GO! It’s worth the drive from the airport. Once you arrive you’ll be secluded, amazed, relaxed, & given a new lease on life!

Incredible! Stayed 7 nights in a suite with amazing views of the rainforest and ocean. Monkeys & Parrots on the lovely patio - which was also well sealed from the rain! The staff were great to organize all the extra fun included activities, but also plenty of opportunities to just enjoy this special place, sipping Costa Rican champagne (spring water!) The blue zone life at its best! We did the evening zip line, turtle nesting, mixology, cooking and spa days. Antonio and the wait staff looked after us every meal. Time passes differently here so once you relax the soak it in, the service makes sense. The only even better if would be to have snack options at the main bar and more bartending there like they have at the beach. The beach is public but feels private and pristine. Tanya took great care healing us at the spa, it’s a must! This is a true gem at a reasonable cost, don’t let the drive deter you from visiting, it goes quick and they have lovely big vans with drinks. 10 out of 10!

We had a great experience at this hotel. Every single staff member we encountered was friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome and pampered. For example, they would bring us glasses of water with lime while hanging out at the beach pool - without asking. Our waiter at breakfast remembered the tea I liked every morning. I wish I could remember everyone's name but some of them are Joe, Felipe, Edouardo, Brier, Mauricio, Jorge, Marguerita, Antonio, Yorhany, and many others. The food was outstanding. We were able to try traditional Costa Rican dishes like gallo pinto at breakfast, chicken & rice, & Casado along with other yummy dishes. My husband loved the hanger steak! The Exotic Toast (think french toast with coconut milk and fruit) was sublime. We tried to have something different at every meal. So much fresh fruit! The staff asked about allergies at every meal. Take advantage of the many varied activities. Our favorites were Mixology, Nature Hike, art classes in the neighboring town of Islita, touring the sustainable farm they are developing, the Macaw Preserve, and Tico Cooking. But there are so many others! As we went during rainy season, it wasn't very crowded. But the rains were brief/minimal most days. And everything was so green. Don't let rainy season deter you. The views are breathtaking. The rooms are bungalows that require a short walk from the main restaurant/infinity pool. Ours had a relaxing hammock; some have private pools. It's a very short walk downhill to the beach club. There is a shuttle to take you around, if you wish. There is a second kid-friendly pool adjacent to the beach. It's about 3-hour drive from Liberia airport, in the Guanacaste region. The last 30 minutes or so are dirt roads. Totally worth this experience! we can't wait to go back!

This is a fabulous hotel with hidden green credentials that I wish were more prominent. We stayed for 3 nights at the end of a tour of Costa Rica and I would have stayed longer. Beautiful view across the sea from the spacious restaurant and bar. They have a dedicate person (Joe) whose job it is to make sure everyone has a great time and he's very good at his job. Rooms are perhaps a little outdated, especially the showers, but the ambience makes up for this and the rooms are comfy and clean. Two pools, one by the restaurant and one down on the beach. You can walk down to the beach, 5/10 min walk all downhill and there is transport to bring you back up to the hotel again. Once they go the hang of us vegans, they were superb and we were so delighted that the chef cooked something special for us every meal time - they really did care about us. Waiters were very professional yet friendly and the service was exemplary. Would highly recommend this hotel, it was the best we stayed in during our holiday. In fact they were so good I'd really like to work with them somehow. Pure Vida!

The hotel is beautiful and a great location if you’re looking for something a bit more remote. If you don’t rent a car you’re going to be confined to the property and immediate area, but if you do there a number of great beaches and towns within an hour. The downsides of the hotel is that the food is pricey and not especially good (fine, but not great), and the service is quite slow. That said, it’s a great place and I’d stay here again in a heartbeat.

The hotel is very isolated and the surrounding roads are awful. The hotel has beautiful views looking down towards the sea. The infinity pool is lovely and the public areas well set out. Our room was very spacious with a garden and hammock in it and views across trees to the sea. The bed was one of the comfiest I have slept in and pillows were super too. There was a fridge and coffee machine and 4 coffee pods supplied most days. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Loved the shower with a view. Cleaning was a bit haphazard - our shoes were never moved and sometimes the covers on the bed just thrown up. There wasn't enough surface space to place articles on. There was only one bedside light. The TV had only 2 English speaking channels - it would have nee nice to have HBO. The beach area was lovely, but I found the sunbeds very uncomfortable and why does there have to be loud boom boom music on. I'd much rather listen to the sea and wildlife. On request the volume was turned down. The beach was quite stony. The beach at Carillo is much nicer - half an hours drive. There are lots of activities - most of them at a cost. The food was ridiculously expensive and pretentious! At dinner one night, I had 5 shrimps served on small circles of mashed potatoes and a piece of watercress! My husband had beef and baked potatoes - what arrives was a few small slices of beef and a few small potatoes. These portions should have been starters. Breakfast was $20. Needless to say, we ate at other restaurants. The food at the beach was more reasonably priced and better sized portions. For the price we paid for the hotel, breakfast should have been included - when we asked our travel agent how much to have this - we were told £700 for 2 people for one week!!!!!

Lovely resort in the Green zone on Nicoya Peninsula in Costa Rica. The staff was amazing, setting was other worldly and food pretty good. We had a suite with privacy as well as ocean views. There was our own plunge pool in addition to the infinity pool at the restaurant and one at the beach (which is also top notch). It’s built on the side of the mountain, so walks involve lots of hills, but shuttle service is available within the resort, as well as into town. Many excursions are offered taking full advantage of the wonderful natural environment, some of which are complementary, although most have a fee. We had a car (it’s about 3 hours from the Liberia airport , the last 10 of which are on unsaved roads), but it’s really not necessary. I would characterize the resort as rustic lux and very organic. It’s suitable for all age groups, including children.
