Hotel in zona Paulson Playground, Pittsburgh

L'hotel è molto vicino all'Università di Pittsburgh, la posizione è buona, ma il prezzo è caro. L'hotel è sostanzialmente equivalente a un hotel a tre stelle nazionale. Perfetta posizione se si sta partecipando ad un evento nella zona della costa settentrionale! Stai fuori dall'hotel e si trova proprio fuori dalla porta del People’s Park per PNC o a 10 minuti a piedi a Lombardi. Siamo venuti per un spettacolo al stage AE & erano così felici di andare velocemente verso e da il luogo. Inoltre, si può camminare rapidamente lungo il fiume o fare una passeggiata nel centro. La colazione mattina è uno dei migliori servizi che abbia mai avuto a un RI. L'uomo che mette in servizio è un uomo di guardia e si assicura che tutto sia di alto livello (pasti di salsa erano deliziosi). Tutto era fresco e caldo. Se stai parcheggiando nel parcheggio, guardate gli unghie. C'è un sito di costruzione lungo la strada e abbiamo lasciato il parcheggio con 2 unghie nei nostri pneumatici. (Nota: ci siamo rimasti Nov 2023) Voglio solo dire che Julian al divano era così bello! Molto conosciuto sulla zona.

Wyndham Pitts deve essere elogiato per la sua posizione centrale e vista libera della confluenza dei Three Rivers, a un prezzo eccellente! Il check-in era facile e il viaggio in altre parti della città era molto facile, con diverse strutture come negozi di convenienza 24 ore e bar da jazz a piedi. Si può anche camminare al museo Andy Warhol attraverso i ponti maestosi di Tre Sisters e anche il Duquesne Incline per una vista fantastica della città. Probabilmente si potrebbe solo lamentare dei mobili invecchiati con alcune sezioni di legno craccate o ***** di pareti, e pensavo che sarebbe stato meglio avere una caldaia nella stanza.

Non abbiamo avuto problemi con niente all'hotel. Tutto è andato bene.

Viaggiamo molto e non ci piacciono gli hotel super costosi che ci piacciono in mezzo alla strada, quindi rimanere qui, supponendo che fosse come un Holiday Inn Express o Hampton. Ci sorprese di quanto grande fosse questo hotel. Kim al desk non poteva essere più bello. La stanza era scioccantemente grande. Ha essenzialmente una cucina completa, una stanza di medio dimensione, una stanza di soggiorno e una buona stanza di letto. Tutto era pulito e intendo tutto era pulito. I letti erano comodi. Il divano era comodo. Era tranquillo, non andavamo alla piscina o qualcosa del genere, ma ci sorprese che dicessero che stanno facendo riparazioni e non riesco a immaginare perché tutto quello che abbiamo visto era meraviglioso.

Based on my recent stay at Crowne Plaza Suites Pittsburgh South, I am conflicted about this rating. It might be more accurate at four stars for service, three stars for the hotel itself. Here’s why. About four stars for service . . . When I initially called the hotel or additional information after checking out their website, a front desk representative named Nico was extremely helpful. He took the time to provide details, listened to my specific needs and set up an appropriate reservation for me at a decent price. Good start! Upon my evening arrival, I found that the room included everything we had discussed. Many thanks to Nico for his assistance. Other front desk staff members were helpful during the stay. The name Kayla sticks in my mind. (No one asked me to write this review or mention names.) The three stars? A very average room in need of an update, difficult climate control, a worn mattress, cumbersome pillows, and a previously disclosed lack of food service. They also only do housekeeping twice a week. Clean towels are available upon request. Don’t get hungry here on a Monday or Tuesday, when the onsite restaurant is closed. Even when dining reopened on Wednesday morning, only a continental breakfast buffet (carb central!) was available. My guess? Staff shortages and/or no profitability. I wasn’t there later in the day. There is a tiny store in the lobby for a few packaged snacks and beverages. The hotel is centrally located for anyone visiting Bethel Park or Upper Saint Clair, with plenty of shopping and restaurants nearby. The room had adequate space with a decent TV. A little card listed all the channels. The inexpensive, thin carpeting was worn. Chairs had old, spotted upholstery. The room itself was clean, with the usual appointments. The mattress edges had been weakened over time, making it easy to slip off when sitting on the side of the bed. Have you ever seen the huge, poly-fill pillows used in some hotels, the ones that look good on the fully-made bed but are too bulky to sleep on comfortably? Yup, those pillows. Enough said. Climate control in the room was accessed through a thermostat on the wall rather than the unit itself . . . with confusing buttons and no instructions. It was either too warm in the room or freezing. In addition, the air flow from the unit curled refrigerated air toward the ceiling, down the opposite wall and then straight onto the bed. Would I stay there again? Maybe, but only for a fully updated room at a good price. Advice: bring your own pillows.

I always start a review with the positives. I also don't like to be part of the problem but part of the solution and try to always offer helpful suggestions if I make a valid complaint. That said... The room at the Holiday Inn PIT Airport was PRETTY clean. I saw dark, long hairs on the bathroom floor (my hair is short and blonde,) and in the tub which led me to think the bathroom wasn't clean. However, the toilet and sink were seemingly wiped down and plenty of towels were accessible. The beds are comfy, the rooms are large, and we appreciate the outdoor pool in the warmer months. My husband and I stay here quite often, as many as 4 times a year or more, often with a multi-night stay, and we enjoy using the pool. The location for us is convenient to restaurants, shopping and the airport. Holiday Inn Pittsburgh Airport in general meets our needs. The breakfast is very good. Lots of a variety of hot foods and coffee. The waitstaff is always helpful in bringing out supplies, refilling coffee, hot food, a ”to go” bag if needed, etc. That all said, there is this very heavy set MEAN blonde lady with glasses that makes us cower and cringe each time we enter the hotel. We DON'T want to ask her for anything as she ALWAYS makes us feel like we are BOTHERING her. She seems to work the day shift, from early morning til 3 p.m. or so, as we have noticed and we try to make my requests and ask questions AFTER she is gone for the day. How ridiculous is this?!! Case in point: During one particular stay, I asked for more bars of soap for our room. I prefer bar soap. I shouldn't have to feel ”sheepish” about asking. They are mini and not full-sized bars of soap. We usually stay an average of 3 nights when we come to town and the hubs and i prefer bar soap to the bodywash and need more than one teensy bar for the two of us between the shower and sink for 3 days of usage. Get this one....She told us to use the bodywash in the containers on the shower wall and asked us if we had checked to see if the container of body wash was full!!!?? She seems to like to provoke an ARGUMENT! Then she preceded to tell us how she was instructed to hand out the minimum as in the case of the soap. I was thinking: ” Lady, please just open the drawer behind you and give us the dang soap!!” It's NOT a difficult request. I'm thinking: What happened to the old adage, ”The customer is always right?” The staff certainly should not ARGUE with the customer. A hotel front desk clerk works in the hospitality business and should provide the customer with ”hassle free” service. NOT! We don't ask for much. We don't ask for the room to be serviced with fresh towels, etc. during our usual 2 to 3 night stay. Was asking for mini bars of soap too difficult of a request? Today in our hotel room, I went to wash my hands after leftovers from an early lunch (around 11:00 a.m.,) to find that there was NO WATER. It had obviously been shut off. Why? We called the front desk to find out what happene

Overall was a very comfortable stay! I was in town with friends for the weekend for a mutual friend’s wedding and the Hyatt was very conveniently located near both the airport and wedding venue. The room was very spacious and the bed was super comfortable. The hotel breakfast was decent and the hotel staff were friendly, but seemed short-staffed at times. Would stay again for comfort and convenience.
