GreKa Ionian Suites

One of the best places we have stayed, the GreKa ionian suites are well positioned to explore agias efimas being just 5 minute walk to the port were there are a number of bars and restaurants to chose from. The room was spacious with a small kitchen area, wifi a comfortable bed and spotlessly clean the apartment was serviced daily. Our host Aphroditi was so welcoming and helpful with everything from transfers, car hire and recommendations where to eat she really makes the place special. We will definitely return.

Absolutely fantastic. The place was brilliant. Great space, great views, great location and great facilities. Afroditi, the host was so helpful, from start to finish. I really recommend a visit. We loved it. We especially loved the pool.

My wife and I have just returned from a extremely enjoyable relaxing week's stay at the fabulous GreKa Ionian Suites. When we arrived we were greeted very warmly by the lovely Afroditi, who then spent an appreciable time illustrating on a map local restaurants and bakeries etc. In order not to repeat the same comments from previous reviews, we wholeheartedly agree with the great positive reviews from previous contributors about the GreKa Ionian property, Afroditi and Agia Efimia. Standards have most certainly been maintained and our apartment (The Kefalonia) was beautifully, clean and also spacious. From the Easterly balcony we had great views of the village, the harbour and further out to sea and the second balcony had a view of the sea and some of the pool. After eating out for our evening meal, we then thoroughly enjoyed sitting on our balcony watching the harbour area activity with the all the lights from tavernas etc reflecting on the water. whilst eating some of the delicious desserts or pastries from one of the bakery/patisseries. Afroditi has obviously spent a significant amount of money, on maintaining and updating for the property. One example is the addition of a lot of lovely effective decorative pebble type stones to the pool boundary wall, (and other areas) incorporating all manner of coloured ocean related pictures. One full wall of the property to the side of the pool also completely redone with thousands of the pebble stones stuck into the mortar. The whole pool area is a lovely place to be and with the bonus of more lovely new sunbeds added again this year. Like others have said, many times we the only ones at the pool, but when that was not the case it was nice to chat to the other guests. Afroditi is such a warm, kind, caring, thoughtful, generous and welcoming person, with a good sense of humour and she made such a big difference to our stay at her lovely apartments. One last mention is to the lovely cleaning lady who always greeted us with a big smile. Very much hope to be back here again Andy & Chris

We had a family group of fifteen staying in the Maisonette and three suites. The accommodation is first class and there was attention to detail in every aspect of the design. There is a beautiful pool and barbecue facilities available. Afroditi was available to offer help with anything including local knowledge of restaurants, places to visit and arranged airport and other mini-buses and a sailing boat outing for us. Agia Efimia is a delightful small harbour village.

This is the first time we have booked self catering accommodation. That said there was no need to self-cater as there were plenty of places within easy walking distance for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Although we arrived quite late in the evening Afroditi was there to welcome us and show us our accommodation. She also made recommendations for places to eat and they were all good. The accommodation is some of the best we have encountered in Greece, particularly the bathroom which had a proper shower cubicle. There was also a pool which was clean and there were sufficient sunbeds around it. Afroditi provided us with pool towels and also arranged both of our airport transfers. Agia Efimia is a relatively quiet place but there are plenty of places to eat and drink. Our preference was for the family run establishments. We hired a car for three days of our week and having explored some of the island would recommend this. We would do so again as there are places we found we would return to and some places we didn't make it to! We have already talked about returning to this accommodation in the future. Highly recommended.

We had a wonderful stay at Greka Ionian Suites in the Kefalonia apartment on the top floor with views from the balconies looking over the pool and the harbour of Agia Efimia. The apartment offered plenty of space for us, the kitchen was well equipped, the beds were comfortable and the air conditioning worked well. The pool area is also very nice and everything was well kept & clean. The owner, Aphrodite, could not have been more welcoming and helpful during our stay, offering advice on the best areas to visit, offering to lend us various things eg. beach towels, suncream, beach umbrellas etc. should we need them, and even allowing us to keep our room past check out time until we needed to leave for our flight. The location of the apartments is ideal, being only a couple of minutes walk into the centre of the village. Agia Efimia is a quiet and peaceful place, yet still has plenty of restaurants and cafes to choose from, a couple of mini supermarkets, a butchers, a couple of pharmacies and a few small shops. There are also boats for hire to explore the local coast (highly recommended!) and a boat trip company that offers various trips to other places on the island and other local islands. We also hired a car from the village during our stay. Aphrodite put out traffic cones to reserve a couple of spaces in front of the apartments but even when we were too late to get one of those we were still able to park nearby. We would happily return in the future and wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Greka Ionian Suites.
