Shunli Hotel

Everything about our two night stay at the Shunli met or exceeded our expectations. Our hostess was very welcoming, warm, hospitable, spoke good English, and went out of her way to take care of us. She stored several bags for us for a few days, she arranged reliable taxi service for us to go to the harbour and the airport at the best prices we encountered, she walked us down to an ATM when we had trouble finding one, mailed a letter for us, and recommended local restaurants. She efficiently runs a very nice and scrupulously clean B&B in Old Phuket, only a few blocks from the fresh market and within easy walking distance to restaurants, shops, and tourist sites. When you enter from the street, you leave your shoes at the door. Our room (upstairs, facing the street) was clean, modern, generous in size, and had a comfortable large, firm bed, a nice balcony, a mini-fridge, free wifi, AC, good storage, a drying rack, and modern bathroom with shower, lots of hot water. Breakfast is provided on the main floor, lots of choices both Western and Thai including eggs cooked to order, self-serve coffee, juice, toast and buffet items. I highly recommend this hotel and will definitely stay here again when I return to Phuket.

Are you one of those dorks that nobody loves? Stay in Shun Li and your whole world becomes much brighter (even for miserable bearded fatties ready for a heart attack and Instagram attention-seeking below average looking ladies with orange skin and oversized injected lips). The hospitable staff go beyond their call of duty to make you feel extra welcome. The whole building is tastefully decorated, rooms are immaculately clean+spacious, and location is unbeatable. Breakfast was out of this world with a choice of Asian and western foods, with fresh mango and delicate refreshing dessert. Anyone who is unable to enjoy a stay in this hotel run by these super sweet ladies, perhaps your ******* surgery didn't go as planned or you just need a lobotomy. Either way, welcome to Thailand!

Great location in the centre of Old Town, only a short distance from the Sunday night markets which are a must-visit (and we were glad to be staying here as can’t imagine what the traffic in and out must have been like!) The place is absolutely spotless, the rooms are spacious with a small balcony, king size bed, and small sitting/desk area if needed. Wifi is reliable with a booster on every floor. There is no lift so be prepared to walk a few flights of stairs if you are on an upper floor. The hosts are a couple who were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The breakfast is probably some of the most flavoursome food I have had during my time in Phuket, home cooked by the owner with different curries and stir fries each morning as well as freshly cooked eggs and mango sticky rice to finish. 10/10 stay in Phuket town.

I had a wonderful stay at the Shunli Hotel in Phuket, Thailand. Despite its two-star rating, my experience surpassed all expectations for this quaint B&B in Phuket Old Town. The Deluxe Double Room with Balcony was charming, clean, and provided a cozy atmosphere. The homemade breakfast prepared by the proprietress Khun Thom and her sister, Khun Pong was THE highlight of my stay, offering a fresh and delicious variety of southern Thai seafood dishes every morning. The housekeeping staff did an excellent job, ensuring a spotless room with fresh linens every day. The family running the B&B, made me feel valued and provided excellent recommendations. The hotel's location was convenient for exploring Phuket's attractions. Overall, my stay at Shunli Hotel was memorable, and I highly recommend it to others. I look forward to returning in the future.

Hands-down most organized, clean and well run hostel in Old Town. Taking into consideration that this is a budget hostel and not a hotel, it was lovely. They also decorated our room with ‘Happy Anniversary’ - which was lovely. The ladies who own/run this place is also very kind and humble, so there is sense of peace in the hostel. The breakfast was great! The only thing I would recommend is to put a little kettle/tea/creamer & sugar in the rooms for a cuppa when you wake up. Also, two pillows per person would be nice on the beds as the pillows were not good quality. Thank you

We stayed in this Hotel for 2 nights during February 2023. It is centrally located in Phuket town, very close to the main restaurants, supermarkets and atractions of the city center. The hotel is very clean and all the staff is composed by very nice and helpful people. Breakfast is amazing (filled with local food and with some more traditional western options). To be honest it could include some more cereals/muesli, but only leaving this comment here as a help to the hotel :). The bus stop that takes you to Karon Beach and Patong beach is located very close by (5 min walk) and the bus costs only 40 THB per person each way (you can find this in google maps). To reach the hotel from the airport we took a shared shuttle from Phuket airport and it costs us 150 THB per person

The room was very spacious and comfortable. The staff were all really friendly. The breakfast was one of the best I've had in a small hotel. Great little place right in the centre of Phuket Old Town. We only stayed a night, wished we had stayed longer!

Sometimes a hotel stay offers something so special it is priceless. We have now stayed at 50 hotels in Phuket and Shunli Hotel Phuket Town will always have a place in our hearts. We loved: Guest relations - kind and helpful There is something so calm and soothing about the way this hotel is run. This hotel is rated 9.8 Exceptional on *********** I’d give it 10/10! Cleanliness - spotlessly clean You kick your street shoes off at the door, a rack is provided for each room and inside a pair of slippers await. Location - central but quiet An easy stroll through the old Phuket streets to bars and restaurants. Loved the balcony and enjoying the view down Krabi Road Value for money - one of the best! Comfort - Big rooms with king-sized beds (firm mattress) air-con, TV, safe and ensuite bathrooms with showers, not blackout blinds or in-room kettle Great Wifi The Wifi is great and there is a perfect small dressing table desk space outside the bathroom for my husband to set up his Workcation office. Housekeeping was totally flexible and comes in at whatever time he has a break in his schedule. Breakfast The breakfast in the garden shows an immaculate courtyard, the plants are as happy as the guests! It’s a Thai-style breakfast with each day different Thai breakfast options, fruit, and toast with a fried egg on offer. Again the staff is attentive, fans are directed effortlessly towards each guest. I spend the days happy to be back in Phuket, my favourite coffee shops Campus, Bookheiman and The Shelter Cafe are all within a short stroll. An exceptional stay at a good price, we were pleased to support this beautifully run family business.
