Our stay at this hotel was outstanding in every way. The crew was incredibly lovable and super caring, always going above and beyond to help with anything we needed. The 24/7 swimming pool and bar were fantastic features, and the pool's child-friendly environment made it perfect for families. Our room was very spacious and well-equipped with all the necessary amenities, including a lovely balcony overlooking the beautiful garden. The restaurant and morning buffet were perfectly situated in the Japanese garden, creating an utterly amazing experience to start the day. The combination of an outstanding crew, prime location, and excellent facilities made our stay truly memorable. We highly recommend this hotel for anyone seeking a superb and enjoyable experience.

Allocated a huge bedroom. Good décor & very clean. Provided with a large fan which was very welcoming in the humid weather. Room had the most tiniest of balconies, so sweet. For the first time in 9 nights we had no kettle or coffee machine in the room. Bottle of water provided. Small glass of sparkling on arrival. Terrible internet in the bedroom, if you stood by the door it was much better. Breakfast buffet was good quality with eggs cooked to order. Lovely patio area to eat alfresco. Dinner was well presented and friendly & very efficient service. Our menu did have petit Fours included however we did not get them offered. Would return again if in this area.

We had a few very nice stays here a couple of years ago, but our latest stay was a little disappointing. It was still OK, but the VIP treatment and excellent food that we experienced before is no longer present. The hotel also showed some signs of neglect, and needs maintenance. Food was moderate, nothing like the Michelin star quality of a few years ago. I will not return here anymore, unless the manager decides to perform a major reorganisation.

Like other reviews, we found this to be very dated, old, run down, and shabby. The property has an odd odour, like stale hot dogs. The service was sub-par, no help with luggage, surly restaurant staff, and absolutely lacking in warmth or a welcoming feeling. Adding to the poor experience was the near constant sound of chain saws in the forest, starting early in the morning. The property is located off a fairly busy road, so it’s not at all peaceful. This did not meet the standard of a R&C and we could not wait to leave.

We booked to stay at Villa Hammerschmiede for three nights thinking that because it was a Relais & Chateaux member it would be wonderful. Unfortunately, the reality is very different. This is a hotel that is living on its reputation. The building and its furnishings are tired and worn and badly in need of refurbishment. But the most terrible thing about Villa Hammerschmiede is the smell of stale cooking oil. Even our room smelled of stale cooking oil. We arrived too late in the day to change our plans and find another hotel. We spent an uncomfortable night and got up early to check out. When we told the receptionist that we were leaving because of the smell of stale cooking oil it was clear from her expression that we were not the first people to have cut short their stay at Villa Hammerschmiede because of the smell.

Das in einem Park gelegene Hotel, mit dem angenehmen, diskreten Charme der Bourgeoisie, lädt dazu ein, die schönen Seiten des Lebens zu erfahren. Das Zimmer - zwar im neueren Haus - war gross und geräumig und die Flasche Wasser köstlich an diesem heissen Sommerabend. Für den Hund wurde nicht nur ein Aufpreis verlangt, sondern Näpfe und ein Kissen zur Verfügung gestellt. Da ich früh weg musste, verzichtete ich auf das Frühstück; stattdessen nahm ich nur einen Kaffee, der mir offeriert wurde. Ein sehr schöner Aufenthalt. Einziges Manko: das Zimmer hätte etwas sauberer sein können ...

Wir haben uns wieder einmal ganz kurzfristig entschieden, ein Feinschmecker Wochenende in der Villa Hammerschmiede zu buchen und haben noch ein sehr schönes Zimmer und einen Platz in der Tiefgarage bekommen. Einer der ersten Stellplätze war schon mit unserem Namen reserviert. Nach einem Saunagang und Schwimmbad konnten wir wählen, ob wir in dem wunderschönen Park essen möchten oder im Pavillon. Da wir dem Wetter nicht trauten haben wir uns für den Pavillon entschieden und wurden perfekt von Chelsea bedient. Dank Ihrer herzlichen Art und des leckeren Menüs hatten wir einen sehr schönen Abend. Die Nacht haben wir in einem der stilvollen Zimmern angenehm verbracht. Das Frühstück hat all unsere Wünsche erfüllt. Die Brötchen waren backfrisch, Lachs und Schinken u.ä. sowie Käse und Obst wurden laufend frisch nachgefüllt. Eier wurden nach Wunsch zubereitet. Der Orangensaft war frisch gepresst und den Sekt habe ich leider vergessen zu probieren. Ein großes Kompliment an alle Mitarbeiter, besser geht wohl kaum.

Unser Erlebnis in diesem Restaurant war unterirdisch! Im sehr schönen Pavillon hatten wir einen Tisch reserviert. Als wir den Raum betraten, waren mehrere "schöne" Tische direkt am Fenster oder in Fensternähe frei und für 2 Personen eingedeckt. Uns wurde dann allerdings ein kleinerer "Katzentisch" zugewiesen - mit direktem Blick auf die Wand. Auf meine Bitte, einen Tisch am Fenster zu bekommen, erhielt ich die lapidare Antwort, dass eine Änderung jetzt nicht mehr möglich sei. Kurze Zeit nach uns kam dann ein älteres Ehepaar mit Hund. Diese Gäste wurden gefragt, welchen der freien Tische sie gerne hätten. Ich traute meinen Ohren nicht!! Aber das Allerbeste: Der von mir angepeilte sehr schöne Tisch am Fenster blieb den ganzen Abend unbesetzt! So etwas habe ich in sehr vielen Jahren als Gast in Gourmet-Restaurants noch nie erlebt!! Das Drama setzte sich dann beim Essen fort. Meiner Frau wurde eine falsche Vorspeise serviert. Bis sie endlich ausgetauscht wurde, blieb meine Vorspeise eine Viertelstunde am Tisch stehen. Die ursprünglich warme zur Foie Gras servierte Brioche war danach natürlich kalt und trocken. Als Nächstes kam dann eine andere Flasche Wein als die von mir bestellte. Zum Glück bemerkte ich es noch vor dem Öffnen. Alles nicht sehr förderlich für einen romantischen Abend! Dass uns beim oder nach dem Bezahlen niemand fragte, ob es uns gefallen hat und ob wir zufrieden waren, rundet das Negativerlebnis allerdings geradezu perfekt ab! Wir haben übrigens knapp 300 Euro für diesen Restaurantbesuch liegen lassen.

Normalerweise schreibe ich nur Bewertungen, wenn ich etwas auszusetzen habe. Dieses Hotel macht eine Ausnahme. Aus dem herrlichen Grund, weil es nichts auszusetzen gibt. Vom freundlichen und zuvorkommenden Empfang bis hin zum Zimmerservice passt einfach alles. Die Zimmer sind sehr geräumig und die Zimmerausstattung lässt keine Wünsche übrig. Das Essen im Restaurant war hervorragend (wir hatten das Candle-Light-Dinner) und zum Frühstück am nächsten Tag wurde, auf Wunsch, auch so etwas wie ein englisches Frühstück serviert. Ich kenne einige 5-Sterne Hotels in Deutschland. Dieses ragt aber deutlich heraus. Einziger Verbesserungsvorschlag wäre vielleicht eine Erweiterung der Bierauswahl. Nicht jeder Gast ist Weinliebhaber. Aber das soll keine Kritik sein. Ich werde auf jeden Fall wieder kommen und freue mich bereits auf den nächsten Besuch.
